Complete scam. Will tell you anything to get under a contract with the disguise of "lowering your monthly bill" just to have a bill that is significantly higher than normal. I do not recommend and will be filing a formal complaint.Review from LaR J

Although their prices compared to other companies are very competitive, their customer satisfaction is a zero. I have experienced hard times due to an illness. I made a payment arrangement, paid the amount agreed **** and my services were disconnected anyway. I'm in *****! Its 95 degrees out! Kids are out of school. What's the point in making arrangements if you're being disconnected anyway. Now I have to borrow money to get my services back on. I now also have a disconnection fee, a reconnection fee and an extra service fee. So what was the point in making an arrangement. If I knew this in advance, I would have just borrowed from the beginning. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Of course there wasn't one available. And of course since my services were disconnected, they could no longer help me. But they didn't help me. Texas has become so expensive its hard on most of the people who originated from here. Enough already!Review from Jeremiah G

I havent had any problems with this company. The customer service agent that I spoke to when I signed up last year was respectful and helpful. My energy bill is always fairly consistent.Review from Liliya K

4Change Energy engages in unethical practices, so be very careful if you're considering them!I had a terrible experience with 4Change Energy. I was on a 24-month contract from November 2022 to November 2024. When I moved once, there was no issue, but the second time, they tried to force me into a new 24-month contract before my current one expired. When I refused, they terminated my contract and charged me a $120 termination fee without my knowledge or consent. When I called to resolve this, they said they would waive the fee only if I signed a new 24-month contract. Despite having five months left on my current contract, they insisted it was no longer valid and hung up on me five times. I have a recording of the last call and am prepared to take legal action if needed.Review from Stephanie H

This company is a joke, I got a disconnect notice , I called they told me what to pay in order for it not be disconnected, I paid and the next day they disconnected my electric, called they said I had to pay another amount even though it was there fault. The first person I talked to there was very rude and hard to understand. I called a second time and got the same rude person. The third time I called I got someone that at least tried to help but was unable to do so even though it was their fault. Cant wait until my contract is up.Review from Amber W

I was a 4change energy customer and I fulfilled my contract to the day and at the end they gave me a bill that was probably three times what I owed. People kept calling and harassing me so I just ended up paying it but they are not a fair company.. Never use them!!!They will cheat you when its time to change companies.Review from Elizabeth G

According to the ***** Energy Commission website 4 Change Energy who is a parent company to Veteran Energy is "Value Based Energy dba as 4 Change". Since Veteran Energy came under the control of 4 Change/Value based customer service has been farmed out to offshore call centers in ***************. Reps at these centers have heavy accents and are incapable of understanding even the most basic of asks. According to one customer service representative for Veteran it is 4 Change policy not to disclose where call centers are located or the name of the companies that run these call centers. But they have access to all of your personal information. Many times, the reps will hang up on you if you ask. Try calling the "contact information number" with the ****** address. Your call will get routed offshore. Apparently, the business model for 4Change, Value Based and Veteran is absolute incompetence. Interestingly, the different corporate office numbers for 4Change and Veteran listed online for example each get directed to seemingly the same call center. Reps there always say they don't have the ability to transfer you to someone in corporate. A scam of a business model running under different names, addresses and numbers with no one at corporate and everything gets routed to a call center. Refrain from doing business with any of these companies you will ABSOLUTELY regret it.Review from Ashlyn M

The biggest scam in the utility industry. My roommate and I are both 21, in college, and paying our own way. For the first 9 months of our contract, we were paying around $120. It's still overpriced but doable. Our bill for the cycle of January 23rd- February 21st was $542 with a usage of ***** kWh. We live in an 825 sq ft apartment. We also keep our AC off during the day when at work/school, hand wash our dishes, and wash laundry once a week. There is no logical reason as to why our bill should be that high. Along with that, we have been trying to get in contact with them for a month regarding a meter check or just information as to why our usage suddenly spiked when our neighbors haven't and our daily routines haven't changed. The representatives we've spoken to have been rude and not helpful in the slightest. I've been given the run around with them and Oncor (their 'provider') and have been on the phone so many times I can repeat their scripts word for word. The customer service is horrible. The only reason I got an email back from them today was because I stated I would be contacting the BBB and have already looked into breaking our contract to avoid a bill that will be higher than our rent. It has gotten to the point that we have to turn the breaker to the apartment off completely. Horrible service, horrible all together. I would recommend someone living off the grid before using 4Change Energy.
