Not impressed with their call center.I cancelled my service with Veteran Energy today. It was an unnecessarily difficult task. I had received an email stating that my contract expired on the 29th of March. Turns out I am then automatically renewed month to month after that versus just ending the contract. I have not been at the address since March 22nd and now I am expected to pay for the service from the 29th until now. That is silly enough. Turns out calling to cancel service puts me with a call center out of the country. I do not hate the company for outsourcing, but the ** script they have to follow when you call to cancel is ridiculous. From the verification process to the person asking me questions that I have already answered or told them upfront made the experience painful. The good part? I was able to manage all my billing and payments through their website. That was easy. Never lost service and the plan rate was competitive.Review from Jeanne H

I give them no stars! They lie they steal they over charge and they need to be investigated for fraud and fraudulent activity. They take money from their customers by overcharging. I live in a two bedroom apartment and I have never paid a light bill for over $100. The electric company I was with was brought out by this ??show company! The ignorance unprofessionalism, offshore team as well as corporate office never answers your questions directly its always indirectly! They stole my $250 deposit that I was supposed to get back if I decided not to go with them. I was supposed to be grandfathered in with the same rates from the merger and come to find out I am not! They put you on an illegal switch hold even when you pay your bill in full on time every month! This is also been reported to the **** BBB AND ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE and Consumer Rights Act. This company is carrying around the word veterans as if they care for their veterans and their families. Whom ever has or needs energy please read all reviews and run ??????? like he!! They over charge, still and switch hold you illegally! DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING BREAK YOUR CONTRACT IMMEDIATELYReview from EDDY C

Don't go with Veteran Energy. I was canceling service, and they auto billed me as well as providing a full bill showing amount due on a different date. Also, on their website once you entered in a credit card number in does not allow you to remove it without entering a new credit card so they can continue to auto bill you. They also auto bill you the day before the due date. Normal business practice is to do a final billing, and not have to make 2 separate ******** to close out an account.Review from Richard W

In 2019, an electricity account in my name was established with Veterans Energy LLC in ******, ** (aka Veterans Energy ***). The following was provided by me to Veterans and its collection agent as evidence of the fraudulent ********** A 7/30/19 email reporting the identify theft Veterans and providing them with the report number for the *************** ************************ report I filed of the fraudulent account, the police sergeant's name, email, and phone number. I also pointed out I have lived in the ******* Metro area my whole life and never lived in ******, information readily available in my credit report. On 8/30/19 I received a letter from ************************************, the in house attorney for Veterans. The letter had no receipt acknowledgement of the 7/30/19 letter. It was a demand letter for settlement of the $710 past due balance with a 30% discount.2) On 1/28/20, I mailed a letter to both Veteran's and ********** Systems collections including the same documentation provided by email on 7/30/19. Again, I received no contact or acknowledgement from Veterans or **********.3) On 10/9/2023, I also provided to Veteran's a 4/28/17 letter from the ** ******************* it was a conviction notice of the individual who stole my identity, which includes the case and docket number. I received no response from Veteran's.On 11/18/23, ********** reported 4 years of delinquency to the credit bureau Experion, significantly damaging my credit score.Along with this report, I have reported Veterans and ********** to the **** the ** Attorney General and ** Secretary of State. There are other reports of this company abusing the use of delinquency credit reporting on identity theft victims where they knew identify theft was used to establish the account, but continued to pursue the identity theft victims. This deserves investigation and revocation of their license to operate in this state.Review from Kohl Y

This is a horrible company. I have been with them for 6 years. Never late even with the extra charges they cant explain. I was in the hospital and once returning home I immediately began paying ************ being the first. Once everything was paid I laid back like the dr said and closed my eyes. 10 seconds later I heard a click and noticed the power was off. I immediately called and got someone from *************** who talked like they didnt care. What am I saying of course they dont care. I was told oh we see the payment and will have you back on in 2-4 hours!! What!!! They just flipped the switch, tell them to turn around! Again nope! I explained the situation and he blew me off. Def will not be returning to this trash company.Review from Jeffery T

My bill is usually between $150-$250/mo. I pay it every month, August bill was $389! Never have I ever had a bill so high. So I did a payment plan, this month my bill is $419. Absolutely outrageous. I have to pay by 10/11 or my service will be turned off. I dont get paid until the 13th, I said I could pay $300 and pay the remainder in 2 days. They said no, I couldnt do that, and I spoke with a supervisor after waiting 2 days for a call back. He asked me if I would like to cancel service and that they were putting a switch hood in my acct. They do not care at all about their customers, which they made very clear. Once this is all paid off, I will be switching companies ASAP.Review from Scott W

Horrible company! My rates spiked and when I shopped around with energy ogre I ended up going from over 1K to 400 a month with another company. I asked veteran energy for assistance and they told me to pound salt. They dont give a S about customer service. Stay away.Review from Andre P

Horrible company. I've had them for a while, and after I moved I still kept them on my new location, but after I had to cancel the credit card which was being used to pay the bill they told me I couldn't pay online or by phone anymore, that I could only do cash payments! This is ridiculous, making me drive far away to pay an account that was supposed to be paid online with their system. What year are you on? Thought this was 2023. And to add insult to injury, several of the locations they show on their website that accept cash payments actually do not. Some are gas stations that never even accepted any kind of bill payment to begin with. Had to spend hours just to find a location that could actually take payment on their behalf. At the end this is all just a scam to make you terminate the account with them so you pay the early termination fee.
