Strongly believe this company is a phishing and embezzlement set up. Get texts from them all the time about a bill I owe for anesthesia on an imaginary procedure dated when I had zero medical visits. No details, no dollar amount. They say they dont have my phone number or address and I need to click the link to contact them by phone. Yeah, NOT going to do that! A complete scam and looking at the other complaints why has BBB not done something?NorthStar Anesthesia Response

I delivered both my twins vaginally. I received a bill from this company for 1 vaginal delivery and 1 C-section. I called them to inform them of the error and they argued with me stating, "well according to our records, you had a C-section". I called the hospital and they stated they had submitted the correct codes. I emailed NorthStar customer service and they stated they would do a "review". That was weeks ago. I have since received multiple notices and threats of sending my bill to collections. It's worth noting that ********** Blue Shield of MI already paid their portion of this service that I never had. This company is unethical and fraudulent ! I had surgery and the price was agreed upfront with the surgeon and hospital for $1,8XX. Almost one year later I get an invoice from this company claiming my account balance was now $18,***. The amount increased 10x the original amount once they thought I had insurance that they could bill. Now theyre attempting to collect that amount from me which is not what was agreed upon with the hospital and not what they originally billed me for. They claim they have no record of the original amount owed, which is a complete lie because they sent me multiple invoices with the lesser amount listed. They offered to settle and give me a 75% discount on the $18,***, which is completely unacceptable! Im also still waiting for them to send me an itemized bill along with copies of the original amount billed and have yet to receive anything! If they want to collect 10x the amount originally billed from an insurance company, thats fine. However, I dont have insurance and never did! The amount was agreed prior to the procedure and was a self pay account! After several attempts to resolve this issue and even speaking with supervisors from NorthStar Anesthesia, nothing has been done and they keep requesting me to email them my original bill because they have no record of it for some odd reason, despite it being physically mailed to me and sent via email several times. So I am now getting legal advise from a close relative that is an attorney and hes agreed to help me going forward if ** unable to get this issue resolved with them directly, which apparently isnt going to happen. We are also reporting them to a few government agencies as well because something absolutely needs to be done! In addition to all of this, they also sent me a notice that my information was exposed recently due to a data breach within their network. I was billed $650 for anesthesia and called twice for an itemized bill which I never recieved but was told over the phone that it was local and type of anesthesia. My EOB from my health insurance shows 2 claim numbers from them but they cannot say why so no help from them. Noticed that ******** charged me for same thing and ******** put my bill under review.30 days later I get call from Northstar Anesthesia telling me I was given MAC anesthesia which is a general anesthesia for light sedation which is completely incorrect. She also said I would receive an itemized bill in ***** hrs but I have NOT recieved that either. I also told her I was tired of being HARRASSED for payments which she did put a stop too. She said they will put my bill under review.************ outsources their anesthesia but as of January they are getting rid of Northstar and hiring their own. Hmmmm wonder why? PUSHY!!! We've had daily text messages and emails telling us we had an outstanding balance and hadnt even gotten a bill yet. Finally got the bill, and its for $177. That's harassment.Review from E. W.

Northstar mailed my bills to the wrong address and I never received them. Then I start getting texts and calls from a collection attorney in *****. I live in ********, and I am an attorney! Once I figured out who the creditor actually was, I paid immediately and told them to contact Attorney ********************************** collection office and stop all contact with me. 10 days later I get a letter from the collection attorney stating that I owe the money. I pay my bills timely and have perfect credit. Because Northstar mailed the bills to the wrong address I am being harassed by a collection attorney. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I will definitely be contacting my surgeon and letting him know what type of company he is working with. The anesthesia was great the billing is absolutely horrible. Northstar better hope they straighten this out before it effects my credit.NorthStar Anesthesia Response

Well, I continue to receive letters from the collection attorney and the Billing people at Northstar keep assuring me that my account is paid and that they have contacted the collection attorney to have them stop collections, but the collection attorney has not stopped contacting me. Northstar billing also refuses to let me speak to a supervisor or someone in charge so that this problem is resolved.Review from ED G

This company is a scam. I had cosmetic surgery and the price was negotiated upfront with the surgeon and hospital for $590. This was paid the day of the surgery. 6 months later I get an invoice from ** ******* LLC claiming my account was sold to them. Then their "inhouse" collection department ***** Partners started trying to collect $3146.00 but would settle for $2516.80. I requested a full itemized invoice for services per my rights under FCRA. I never heard a thing again until this week when I started receiving calls and a letter by some attorney in ******* ** trying to collect $3146. The letter said they purchase the debit from ***** Partners. All of this is a scam because the original contract for the procedure was $590 which was paid at time of the procedure. After multiple attempts to resolved this issue with NorthStar Anesthesis nothing has been resolved.NorthStar Anesthesia Response

I got a bill for $770.00 for a surgery I had two months ago. I have been paying it down for the last month. It is down to $200, but they are not crediting my payments to my account. Naturally I have the bank receipts showing I have paid but they are still showing the full amount due. Now they are harassing me and contacting me telling me to pay the full amount or go to collections. When I tell them I have paid they say will look into it and I never hear back. The last girl who called said it could take a few weeks for payments to show up on my account????? How is that possible? This place is either a scam or operating off of 1980's technology. Either way, not a quality you want from health care professionals.Review from Jeanie M

They use a third party billing service (Arietis) which may be the source of the problems. My bills were submitted to Medicare then they sent me a bill for the small remaining balance. Which I paid. Now I am receiving notices months later from my Medigap company indicating that the Medicare payment information has not been passed along when the billing company for Northstar Anesthesia sent a bill to the Medigap company for the full amount. Of course my Medigap company wants a copy of the Medicare payment information. The representative for Arietis to whom I spoke indicates there is a zero balance. After reviewing previous comments I can only hope it is true.NorthStar Anesthesia Response

(Minus 5) Why doesn't someone investigate Northstar Anesthesia of Michigan PLLC? (which internet says is located in Texas) I just called again 5 months after they sent a letter saying this was cleared up. BUT it isn't cleared up. My credit report showed this company with a negative score. When I called today, the operator looked up my number and they still do not show as any checks are received on my account. Yet I have all of the cancelled checks from my payments. I only discovered that this is still going on because I after making a purchase, I was notified by my credit watch app or that, as well as Northstar showing as unpaid. I'm so angry. I have a co worker who is having the same issue. I'm supposedly on hold for a manager, half an hour later. Yeah, they're not coming back on the line. When is someone going to issue a fine or something for consumer protection? Please help.NorthStar Anesthesia Response
