      I applied for a job at this business 5 weeks ago, I called every week, some times twice a day and I continue to get two different excuses. The managers do not return calls at all and they are very unprofessional. I'm starting to feel as if it's a race issue.

      Hello *******,We look at several factors when considering someone for a position at our company. The primary thing we look is employment history (time spent at each job, time in between jobs). We also look at the applicant's skillset to see whether they would complement the position we are filling. Race is not something we consider, nor is it something we can determine by looking at an employment application or resume.       Purchased 2 items totalling 15.98. My confirmation also says 15.98. Received my items and they had charged me an additional 39.95 for shipping and handling. No where does it mention this on my confirmation. Tried calling them and they will not refund me anything. I could send it back but I would only be refunded for the items returned and that is if they are not broken by the time they get them. So all together for 2 small jars of garlic and sauce I paid $55 dollars and some change. Do not buy from these people because they can charge you any amount of money they want and they don't have to specify this information. Shame on this business for treating their customers with such disrespect. They didn't even try to help me. Not even a discussion. And they had that verbiage down cold, so apparently I am not the first having this problem.

      Hello, my name is Sarah Hancock and I am vice president and daughter of the owner of Gourmet Gardens. First let me start by apologizing. You should not have been charged that much for shipping and I am requesting that a full refund be issued. For 2 jars from Texas to Maryland, the shipping fee should have been $15. The difference in price was an error made by an employee in training who misunderstood protocol on retail orders. That employee had been thoroughly trained for several weeks on how to invoice wholesale orders, which account for over 99.5% of our sales. However, since we receive at most one or two retail orders a month, she was not yet very familiar with the retail process and mistakenly charged you the case price for shipping rather than the single unit shipping price. The employee has been retrained and will be reaching out to you with a refund receipt shortly. Though we produce and ship over 6,000 units a day, we are a small mom and pop shop with just about 30 employees. And like the rest of the world, we have seen a lot of turnover in the past couple of years due to Covid which has resulted in having to train and retrain employees. While we do take errors seriously and try to avoid them at all costs, we can expect employees in training to make some mistakes from time to time. I do appreciate you bringing the issue of our website not having a disclaimer about shipping costs being added to the final price. Mom has already reached out to our website developers to have that fixed immediately. We launched a new website this year so we are still trying to do some fine tuning and your suggestion was valid and needed to be corrected. When you brought this to our attention, we assumed your complaint was only about having to pay any shipping costs at all since there was no disclaimer on our website. We did not realize that you were overcharged until we reviewed the invoice today which is why the refund was not processed before. I sincerely apologize for the trouble this has caused you.
