Driveway Gates Houston (DGH) replace 2 gates and paid 50% of the invoice at the beginning of the project. However, DGH was not timely in its work, communication or responses. We accommodated DGH's multiple-month delays, extended the term of the project multiple times, and gave DGH ample opportunities to finish the job and/or make needed adjustments (for one of the gates that was installed was not functional). The owner of DGH, attributed his delays by referring to general supply chain issues, but he did not provide concrete evidence of such delays nor tried to give us estimates of when he would be able to get the job completed. His response to our inquiries of when he could come by to finish the job was "Next week..." but would not actually show up that following week. He would often not return our calls and became upset whenever we tried to get him to provide more information or finish the job. One of the ****** elders emailed the owner, and initially he said he would finish the project by the of August 2022 (please note, the invoice for the project is 1/22/22), but that did not happen. When our ****** gave him yet more time to respond/complete the job, the owner became angrier and aggressive. When we terminated the project because we could no longer afford to wait and needed to find a contractor who could finish the project. We estimated that DGH only finished about 35% of the total project, so requested a refund of the 15% that we overpaid DGH ($2,526.67). However, the owner was unresponsive and angry that we even tried to ask for a refund. We are requesting BBB's assistance in receiving the refund of $2,526.67 which represents the amount the ****** overpaid DGH for its services at the time of termination of the project.
