My factory installed keel guard wasn't installed correctly and started to peel off. My warranty claim was rejected because I didn't go to them first. I will list the reasons I didn't go through them. 1. The day I bought my boat (brand new), I was told that the drain plug doesn't work and has to be manually pushed in. 2. Within the first week my Skeeter installed side imaging wasn't working on one side of the boat; I brought it in and was told that the transducer was bad. I was then told to go to the local sporting goods store and get a new one to put on myself. After installing the new transducer the same issue was occurring. I told them the transducer was not in the correct spot and the signal was hitting my trim tabs. They charged me $90 to move it to the correct spot. 3. The Skeeter installed Thru Hull transducer quit working. Once again I was sent to the local sporting goods store. Turned out to be a software update issue- just another issue Skeeter did nothing to help and another reason I didn't go to Skeeter for the keel guard. 4. The Skeeter installed trolling motor broke. The trolling motor was warrantied by the manufacturer, but it broke because Skeeter didn't install a support arm to keep it from bouncing in the waves. The repairman asked who installed it because there were other parts missing as well. 5. Steering arm bent on the motor. Skeeter said I hit something with it and charged me $844 to fix it. I didn't hit anything and the way it was bent something in the steering broke and hydraulic pressure bent the steering arm. I believe it should've been warrantied. 6. The reason I am filing. The keel guard started peeling off. I looked up the manufacturer of the keel guard and their website has authorized installers/repairers. Skeeter isn't on there. Skeeter doesn't have anyone qualified to work on/repair the keel guard in the state on MN. Qualified installer says keel guard was incorrectly installed. The reason Mr ******'s request to be reimbursed for the replacement of the Hamby Keel Guard, is because any and all warranty work on a Skeeter boat must have prior approval from Skeeter Customer Service.
Skeeter's records do not reflect any request for warranty work, nor have there been any warranty claims filed, on Mr ******s Skeeter boat (************ - ******) to date. Therefore we are unaware of any off the issues you listed on this BBB complaint.
Skeeter has contacted your Skeeter dealer (****** Marine) to determine if there had been any work performed on your boat. They have informed Skeeter that the only repairs to your boat has been to the engine and related equipment.

I am rejecting this response because:In my original complaint I stated the reasons that I did not go to Skeeter at the beginning of this process. The day I picked up the boat; Skeeter told of manufacturing defects, and told me that was the way it was. They had no intentions of fixing the manufacturing defects on my brand new boat, but expect me to go to them for repairs after the first 3-4 times of going to them, and them telling telling me to figure it out myself? Then after over 5 weeks of speaking with them, they still haven't attempted to return my call? Going through the BBB was; in my opinion the only way that they would even acknowledge me. To my dismay they still haven't. Honestly, the worst customer experience I've ever had in my life. ***** ******

Mr ****** have been contacted by Skeeter Customer Service and we awaiting his reply to let Skeeter address his additional concerns with his Skeeter boat. As of this writing, we have not heard back from Mr ******. Skeeter await his response so that we can move forward and hopefully make him a satisfied customerCustomer response

I have to only turn around and ship it back to skeeter for third time to fix there mistakes
Boat cost 94k they have had it since 2021 off and on to fix there defects!They keep shipping boat with defects!No quality control and worst customer service everBusiness response

It is not Skeeter's policy to monetarily reimburse for boat downtime.
************************* boat is covered under Skeeters warranty and as such we have repaired the boat on two separate occasions at no cost to the customer.
We are currently waiting on the customer to give us permission to repair the issues that he found unsatisfactory after the boat was returned to him the last time.
These issues can be resolved at the dealer level or have the boat returned to the factory at the customers convenience. These issues are of a cosmetic nature and in no way prevent the customer from using the boat.
