On 5/16/2023 at about 11:00 am I pulled into Take 5 Oil Change #**** on my way to work, I had them change my oil and oil filter, and replace my air filter; invoice # **** for which I paid $91.64. My electronic odometer began flashing, and the oil use sensor was at 4% (normally 100% after a change), the technician told me how to reset the sensor, and it read 100% when I left for work. Today 6/9/2023 I took my vehicle to my regular garage for my scheduled oil change and was informed that my oil pan was damaged due to the oil drain plug being stripped out (Gene's **** invoice #*****).I took both invoices to the Take 5 Oil Change and spoke with the Manager. The manager wanted me to allow him to inspect the oil drain plug and repair any damage. The repair being discussed was installing a new oil drain plug that would self-thread into the existing oil pan. My concerns are that a self-threading plug would leave metal filings in the oil pan causing more problems, the manager explained that he would simply flush the filings out. This all sounds reasonable to me, but so also does not mis-threading something as simple as a bolt in the first place. I find that I am unwilling to trust the shop that caused (in MY opinion) the problem to fix all the issues.

      Update:
I did reach out to the customer, his mailbox is full. I also emailed him.
I do remember this gentleman coming to the 733. He went and got another oil change 25 days later at another shop, where they insisted that he had stripped plug. I asked him if I could look at the vehicle to see what he was talking about. The other shop told him that we stripped his plug, after forcing the old one out. They supposedly put a butterfly plug in there temporarily. The customer did not want to me to look at the plug, redo the oil change or fix the issue. I wanted to see if it could be rethreaded or tapped which a lot of shops do. I offered to have it done. But he refused,  *************** even stated that he did not want take 5 to replace his stripped pan. I asked why he didnt bring it to us 1st to  look at it and determine the issue, to which there was no response. He just wanted me to know that our shop messed his jeep up. But did not want me to look at it or fix it.
I never saw the stripped plug or pan or butterfly plug with my own eyes. I offered to help several times, but to no avail.
I will wait for his response!

I am rejecting this response because:
I did stop by shop #*** and spoke to the manager there. The manager was kind and offered to help once he had verified his people caused the problem. I have been dealing with my regular shop for more than 6 years with no unexpected problems with any of my vehicles. I do believe the report from my regular shop, and after consideration decided I don't trust *********** #*** to work on my car. I cannot think of any way shop #*** can fix my issues when I don't trust them to work on my car, and so will resolve the problems myself.
      Regards,
