I had an appointment with Dr ****** on Friday, March 17th, 2023 to look at a lump on my elderly dog as well as to perform a heartguard test in order to obtain a RX for the medication. Once the test results came in, Dr ****** called to go over the results along with other bloodwork for a potential surgery for my dogs fatty tumor. At the end of the call I asked for a paper copy of the RX to fill online. She agreed & said she would notify the front desk and have the RX ready for me. I came into their office the following day to pick up the RX in person. When I arrived in the office, the front desk was immediately rude to me which threw me off guard. Then the receptionist came over with 2 pieces of paper, one was my dogs RX and the other was a waiver for me to sign making Northpark exempt from any issues filling this RX from an online pharmacy. Again, something I have NEVER been asked to sign at this vet before, was not notified by the vet herself this was needed and have never signed anything similar at this vet or any other vet. The receptionist said she could not give me the prescription without signing the copy of the form first. I denied signing it and stated I already agreed to do the office visit and blood test and that Dr ****** agreed to this as well, along with filling the paper RX. I asked to speak to the manager. At the time, I thought they brought over the manager, but after researching more on their website, they tricked me & had me speak to the lead receptionist and NOT the hospital manager. I felt bullied, coerced and harassed to sign this form (which I did not sign). They then lied to me and said that they never told me they would withhold the RX if I didn’t sign the waiver. They finally gave me the RX but asked for the unsigned waiver back. I declined as it was specially filled out with my dog and my information on it and I wanted time to read it at home. At this point it seems as though they are putting money beyond the care of animals.
