      Last year my car was totaled from an accident. The bank received a check from the insurance as well as gap insurance. Initally we were told by City bank that once all payments were in it would be a wash, meaning nothing owed. Shortly after, they claimed there was a shortage remaining on the loan and they would contact the dealership to request the remaining portion of monies made towards any extra purchases we had made towards the vehicle( ie warranty) and apply it to the shortage. We go on with life, thinking that was done. A whole 6-7 months went by with no contact from this bank regarding no monies sent from dealership for remaining shortage. Meanwhile we received NO LETTERS, NO EMAILS, NO CALLS, NO NOTHING! I live in the same town. And incidentally, I have another car loan with this same bank of which *** been paying that loan ON TIME. SO while this bank was supposedly contacting the dealership, I still had the first car loan tearing up my credit score showing delinquency. Had I not checked my credit score, I wouldn't have known that city bank hadn't done anything let alone call or contact me to resolve the issue. I called city bank only to have a young man not fully aware of the situation and clueless as to why or what was supposed to have occurred 6 months ago. Finally, I talked to the young lady that was supposed to be handling the situation 6 months ago, only for her to tell me she was resubmiting the request for the shortage again to the dealership, again. I was so disgusted and disappointed with this institution playing with people's lives and credit as it was shown they have no care of their customers and could care less of the consequences such negligence can have on peoples livelihood. I have prided myself in doing the right thing in paying my debts only to have this organization be irresponsible and not contact or communicate with customers. What they did do was allow the debt to incur late fees and sit unpaid on my credit.

      City Bank has once again requested the check from the dealer. When the check is received by the bank, the customer will be issued a refund check as the loan has now been paid in full. Late fees were also waived on the loan. Additionally, any negative reporting to the credit bureaus on this specific loan will be removed. We trust this resolves the issues the customer has with the bank and this transaction.
