I am filing a complaint against Gristy cleaners,3411 82nd St. I dropped off a clean tablecloth that only needed to be pressed and 8 brand new cloth napkins to be washed or dry cleaned, no pressing necessary. And when I picked them up on 11/4/21, I was charged $72.38 that was ridiculous, when $12 or $14 total would have been acceptable and responsible. I was shocked but needed those items for a church banquet. I called Todd *******, the owner about this matter he responded by saying "I'll investigate it and reimburse you half the cost. I have not seen any adjustment on my card as of yet 12/26/21.I have also reported it to my credit card company as well, in hopes to get this resolved. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/25) */ Dear Customer, I am sorry that you feel that we overcharged you. However, you could have easily asked for a price when you dropped off. We are a full service Dry cleaner and Laundry. I am not sure why you mentioned a church function, but I donate to my church personally, but Gristy's is a for profit business. I prefer not to do table linens. They are very time consuming and I am sure that you are not aware of how much time and labor we put in to your linins. No cleaner in town would touch them for 12-14 dollars. I also no that you feel our price was unfair. So I will send you a check for 1/2 of the total which I feel is very unfair. I will mail you check to the address we have on file. Once the BBB informs me if this will resolve this matter. I have received the $38.83 credit from my credit card company and I hope they charged-back Gristy Cleaners with the same amount. If so, this would resolve my complaint. If not, then he owes Visa the $38.83. Thank you! Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/03/07) */ I have verified with Visa that have settled with the merchant, Gristys Cleaners on 2/3/22. This case is resolved, no further action is needed. However, I would suggest that future customers at Gristys get a quote for their services when dropping off items to be cleaned. So they are not surprised when they pay the bill. PLEASE use another Dry Cleaners in the future!
