My husband called back in March , this is **** now, to have our power transferred to our new address . This morning our power was cut off, we are senior citizens with 3 dogs. When we called we were informed our address was never changed and they would review our account. They saw that we called . They saw we even paid our last months bill but it was on our old address! Now we are being told it will be tomorrow before they can get the power restored . I have to deal with the heat here in ***** today I to tomorrow because of their mistake! Bad, bad , bad ! Shame on you Xcel Energy ! Horrible to do this to a customer of so many years. We cannot get any other provider because we are in New Deal, ***** and Xcel is the only provider!Review from Shavell L

I've been a customer of Excel energy for many years and each year their prices keep going up and down never the same ,a few months it's between 145 to 175 and my family size of been the same since 2010 for the past two years I have noticed that Excel Energy been charging more and more but in Junly ,August.2021 and 2022 of this year the price double We went from 160 all the way up to $315 when I call Excel they say it's because of the heat and the neighborhood I live in and that they have an shortage in In employee so they are proating the The monthly charges based off My neighborhood which causes my bill to go up close to double the amount we usually pay with no given explanation. I would really love someone the stop there Crooked actions and bad mismanagement of the people living in Hobbs,Nm.

Upon review of the customers account the customers actual usage more than doubled during the periods that were specified in the complaint in both 2021 and 2022. We at Xcel Energy understand the frustrations of customers who have abnormally high bills. However when a customer's usage doubles due to the extended duration of runtimes of A/C units or window A/C units to combat the extreme temperatures in our region, the customer should expect their bill to reflect their usage patterns.
