I needed the back glass replaced on an iphone 12 that was broken. I was told no problem. It was repaired on time and worked fine when I left the store. However, I noticed later my settings app has this message "Important Display Message". When I click on the message an Apple warning says that the display could be "non-genuine", "not functioning as expected", " or the installation is incomplete". I called the store at XXX-XXX-XXXX and asked the repair person why I get this message. He asked me if they installed a genuine Apple display to which I said I have no idea what you installed. I simply wanted the broken glass repaired. Now it appears I have a phone that has one of the issues Apple has warned me in my settings. He told me the message goes away after several days. I asked why it wasn't explained to me what they would do. He said he did know because he wasn't the one that did the repair. I told him that wasn't acceptable and just said sorry but didn't offer any solution. I said I would report to BBB and he said that was fine. My complaint is that they didn't explain what they were doing. They owe me a genuine Apple repair for no additional money which I doubt they will do.
