I purchased a gym membership at TruFit Athletic Clubs, located at **** 34TH STREET, ******* ** *****, on April 24, 2023, paying an initial $53.04 for the annual membership and an additional $25.98 as a monthly charge. Upon joining the gym, the counselor informed me that I could freeze my membership for up to three months each time, with no mention or indication that this was a 'one-time' option. Consequently, I froze my membership during the summer for three months as I was out of town.On November 19th, I informed the gym club that I wanted to freeze my membership for two months. I was told it would be processed by Monday, November 20th. However, on November 29th, I received a phone call from a lady ****** stating that they couldn't allow my membership to be frozen. Despite my attempts to explain the situation, she suggested that I should come in person to the gym to cancel the membership, which I couldn't do as I was already out of town. After a brief discussion, she decided to cancel my membership, and I reluctantly agreed.Regrettably, I had already paid the one-year fee of $53.04. Additionally, TruFit Athletic Clubs had already withdrawn the monthly fee of $25.98 on November 21st for the upcoming month, which was after my initial request to freeze the membership.Therefore, I would like to request a refund for the membership fee of $53.04 and the monthly charge of $25.98, which was processed after my request to freeze the membership.Special Note: The dispute took place at TruFit Athletic Clubs, situated at **** 34th Street, *******, **. However, this particular address is not listed on BBB. Instead, the BBB listing is for the same club located on 82nd Street. Therefore, for reporting purposes, I chose the gym located on 82nd Street. I want to emphasize that the actual dispute occurred between myself and the staffs of TruFit Athletic Clubs at the 34th Street location.
