On October 7, 2022, Green Earth Tree Service unlawfully trespassed onto my private property located at **** **** **** ****** ******* ** ***** and permanently damaged my tree valued at $17,100. About 50% of the canopy of my tree was removed in the midst of a draught. Per experts I consulted, no more than 20% should ever be removed at one time. The limbs were severed at the trunk creating several wounds where limbs will never grow back. The tree no longer provides the benefits, such as shade and privacy, it did previously. It is aesthetically unappealing and now at a greater risk of falling toward my home in a storm per the appraisal report written by the Certified Master Arborist I hired to assess the tree after the damage. I reached out to the owner by phone after providing his employee with the appraisal report for the tree. Instead of attempting to resolve the matter arising from his gross negligence amicably, the owner disclaimed any responsibility, claiming my neighbors showed him proof I approved the mutilation. He was beyond disrespectful and dismissive. He repeatedly interrupted and yelled over me before hanging up on me. I did not approve the mutilation. A reputable, law-abiding business would have independently obtained permission instead of merely relying on a neighbor to whom the tree clearly does not belong to. Green Earth Tree Service never reached out to me in any way prior to any cutting. The reason this complaint is being filed more than 12 months after the date of occurrence is because I didn't have any contact with the company and did not know the identity of the company that committed the damage until my neighbors, who apparently hired the company, provided their name.
