A ***************************************** the waiting room for 3.5 hours. The hospital had my daughter in a hallway bed, no privacy, everyone could hear everything about her health (HIPAA Law). They had her mixed up with another patient. she was in bed 25 and her chart said bed 23. Whatever tests they ran on the person in bed 23 was billed to us. Rooms came available and no one cleaned them to move us out of the hall. Instead, new people coming in got the private rooms and all they got was a new bed, nothing in the room was cleaned or sanitized. The restrooms in the ** were very dirty, trash overflowing with urine buckets and urine all over the toilet seat and floor.The doctor came to us not prepared. He had not even looked at my daughter's chart so we had to wait another 2 hours for him to look at her chart and make his way back around to us.This hospital was dirty and very unorganized. One nurse was doing all the running while 3 others were behind the nurse's station playing grab *** with each other. I don't recommend anyone to go the Methodist Mansfield hospital. You will be treated rude and not cared for properly.Business Response

Concern:
Patient with chest pain was stuck in the waiting room for 3.5 hours. Patient was in a hallway bed, no privacy, everyone could hear everything about her health (HIPAA law). Patients are seen in hall beds to expedite their care in the ******************** during times of overcrowding. Rooms in the ******************** are assigned based on the patients acuity and interventions needed. HIPAA guidelines indicate, Use of wards, semi-private rooms, and hall beds are acceptable if that is what the facility needs to use to take care of patients effectively. Healthcare providers should take reasonable precautions when discussing a patients information. The hall beds are for non-critical or emergency patients and cuts a patients wait time down, but if a patient feels uncomfortable being seen by a doctor in a hallway, they are always welcome to wait for a room.
The patients chart and billing were reviewed. Our revenue integrity/audit team verified and validated the medical record to ensure the documentation supported the charges posted to the patients account.
The ************* Services Team takes pride in providing a clean and safe environment for all.During a very busy night *** ***** members do their very best to stay on top of turning rooms around for the next patient. ED ***** are very helpful in helping turn rooms over by wiping surfaces and cleaning beds if the *** ***** member is attending to other requests. Restrooms are monitored frequently and if someone has an accident, ED ***** does a great job of letting us know the restroom needs attention prior to cleaning time. Our goal is to meet or exceed expectations to anyone coming to our hospital. We review all of our surveys and comments and work diligently to work on missed opportunities and celebrate many positive comments.
At Methodist Mansfield we make every effort to provide the best optimal care. We strive to put our patients safety first and attempt to involve the patient in our delivery of care. We take each of these concerns seriously and use them to improve the care provided to our patients.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:You can say what you like about the confidentiality of a hall bed, but we heard everything that was going on with everyone around us and I am sure they heard ours as well. The hall bed was not a faster solution especially when you had her in a different bed on her chart and couldn't even find where you had placed her. The restrooms were not monitored or cleaned in the 4 hours we were in the hall bed right next to the restroom. It was disgusting.
My daughter's bill reflects IV fluids and blood work in which she had neither. She received an IV but no fluid nor meds was ever brought. Check that blood sample for blood type because you will find that the bloodwork you billed us for is not a match. I have contacted our insurance company to report these fraudulent charges and from here I will contact the local media about the lack of care, incompetence of the staff, fraudulent billing and cleanliness in this hospital.

Im here helping a friend with a medical procedure on 7/17. I used the womens restroom and there was no hot water or soap on the 4th floor public bathroom. The women at the surgery center said the hot water has never worked. How can a hospital and health facility go long term without hot water to wash hands?
