First off on Economy Transmissions website they claim that they are a BBB Accredited repair shop and it is listed on the BBB website that they are not. Economy Transmission in Mckinney, ***** performed transmission work on my vehicle on 12/30/22. I drove my vehicle home to **********, ** and one day later my transmission in my vehicle started having the same exact problem it was having when I took it to them for repair in the first place. ****** at Economy Transmission told me to take it to a repair shop and have it diagnosed. I took it to **************** for diagnosis and they told me my transmission need a complete replacement or rebuild. I took it to another shop called Victory Transmission and the diagnosed it and told me it needed to be replaced also. When I notified Economy Transmission of this information they advised me to take it to another shop called Stu's Transmission and Economy Transmission would cover the repair costs and honor their 2 year/24,000 mile warranty. Stu's Transmission has fixed my vehicle and I picked it up on 3/3/23. Stu's Transmission had to do a complete rebuild on my transmission to fix the problem and notified me that economy transmission did not do the work that they charged me for and that's why my vehicle was still having the same issue. Economy Transmission is refusing to honor their warranty and will not pay for the repair charges from Stu's Transmission. I am requesting a full refund of ******** from Economy Transmission because they did not do the work they charged me for and they did not fix the problem I was having with the transmission in my vehicle which it took it to them for in the first place. Economy Transmission has also caused me to not be able to use my vehicle for over 2 months, and cost me hundreds of dollars in rental car fees and diagnosis fees from the other repair shops they wanted me to take it too. Attached is all of the invoices from all of the repair shops and the rental car fees.

On or about June 7, 2022, my son took my VW CC into Economy Transmission to have an oil leak repaired. We had an appointment. The car was returned to us over 3 weeks later They replaced the lower oil pan gasket and the valve cover gasket. We paid $1,142.73 on June 16, 2022. One day later, the car threw an error code stating oil was low. We returned the car immediately to Economy. Several weeks later, we were informed the upper oil pan gasket and the timing chain cover were leaking. We authorized repairs. On July 19, my son-in-law was informed the mechanic working on the car was involved in an accident and would not be working for days. On August 5, 2022, we were informed all of Economy Transmissions mechanics quit, but the manager convinced one of them to "put the Volswagen back together so it wouldn't be in pieces" and we needed to come get it. The car was driven into the shop both times we brought it in. In mid August, we had it towed to another shop, who Economy had referred us to in the past. They were unable to start the car due to either missing parts and/or damage to the engine. We were informed it would be a minimum of $2500 to get the car running, before they could even tell us what is wrong with it and where the oil leak is. It also appears they did not follow proper procedures when replacing the valve cover gasket, per the new mechanic. We have been without a car for over 3 months and will be out at least an additional $2500 due to their negligence and inferior workmanship. They have offered no resolution to this matter.
