Hello on January 19of 2024 I was sold a used car by Texas Select Auto. They told me of no problems with the car and I bought it cash for 3,500$.And I noticed after I drove it a few day it would rough idle and die on me.So I took it back to see what they could do and basically said a deal is a deal.So I took it to an auto mechanic shop and they said it was the transmission and steering pump and its gonna be thousands more to fix.But supposedly it was a good car.

      Greetings,

Customer purchased a used automobile - we allow ample time to test drive and have the vehicle checked by a mechanic of the **************** prior to the sale as the vehicle in question does not have any factory warranty.

      thanks,

      TSA team

08' Altima purchased on 4/14/22 for $5495 TTL & fees included. Vehicle picked up on Fri. 4/15, after inspection, on 4/16 I noticed that the tire pressure & check service engine symbols were on. Neither was on when I test drove the car on 4/14. I had diagnosis ran on 4/18 to see about service engine symbol & was advised that there was an issue with the catalytic converter. I called the owner on 4/18 to advise of the findings he stated that it could be from the car sitting and to drive around for 30 days and if the problem persists call him back. 2 weeks later on Tues. 5/3 the car didn't start, I reached back out to the owner and he advised to bring the car back so that his mechanic could take a look. I dropped the car off on 5/5 asked for updates the next 2 days. Owner responded back on 5/9 advising there was an oil leak and that he had fixed & that I could pick up the car. Fast forward 3 days later to 5/12 again the car did not start up. I reached back out to the owner and he advised me to let him know once the title came in and to bring the car back to the lot to have the mechanic take a look and if there was a major issue to see about swapping the car out with another on the lot. Title came in 5/31 the owner directed me to contact his brother to coordinate. On 6/2 the brother stated they didn't have a mechanic and towing it back to the lot would be expensive and he was going to see about locating a mobile mechanic to come to my residence. I followed up with him on 6/3 & 4 as I didn't hear back from either brother, continued texting for an update on 6/6 & 7th. Brother came to residence on 6/14 was able to start car however noticed oil looked bad. He was to provide an address for garage in Arlington, never happened. I took vehicle to repair shop and was advised on 6/24 of head gasket blown, new motor needed. Informed both brothers of defect, I want refund as I believe the car was never vetted prior to putting on market too sell and I was sold a lemon.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/08/03) */ Customer purchased vehicle in great running condition. A few months after the purchase, customer calls us to let us know vehicle isn't starting. As a service to our customer, we checked the vehicle and found that the vehicle appears to have been driven with low coolant for an extended time which may have caused the issue above. We recommended mechanic shops where she can have it repaired. We at Texas Select Autos are committed to providing our customers with quality used vehicles but that also requires the customer to keep up with the maintenance and potential repairs in order to keep the vehicle running in best condition. Good luck,

On March 2, 2022 I was sold a 2010 ************* for 7000. It broke down in a week. I asked for my money back. They said they can only put me in another vehicle because they couldn't fix the issue. I was given a 2011 ************ that had a check engine light. I was told by a repair shop that it had transmission issue. The car dealership said not to worry we will give you a warranty with it and you can get the transmission fixed they also had ne pay an extra $500 because the ***** was a more expensive car. Long story short the warranty did not cover the transmission. I was told to bring that car car back and they would yet again go to the auction to find me some of equal value. $7200. This last time on April 4th they said we found a car for you. 2008 ***** Tribute. I was like this is an older model car and not worth 7200. As usual they did no repairs/ didnt even look st it and said take it or leave it. Took it to ***** for a diagnostic and it needs over 6,000 in repairs. Someone please help me. ***** said the car is only worth 2,000 dollars.

On 11/10/21 I put a $500 deposit down to hold a 1998 jeep cherokee at Texas Select Autos LLC. Mohammad Asad ran my card. I was told that the vehicle would cost $5400 and I was putting $500 down. After the transaction was completed he told me that I owed $5740.57. $350.00 of that amount was for a dealer service fee and Doc fee that was never disclosed to me till after they ran my card. When I asked them what that fee was for he told me to service and get the vehicle ready. Having already had the car inspected by the mechanic I new that it needed new fluids, a horn, and tires among other things. The vehicle was originally priced at $5900 and they had told me they would take off $500 due to the vehicle having not been serviced. I disputed the service fee but they would not remove it. I asked for them to fix a loose seat and a horn as it would not be safe for me to drive the vehicle home without these repairs. They assured me they would fix these issues. Upon arriving to the dealership I found that the horn and seat were not fixed at all. . They said they could not fix these issues. I had driven 4 hours to buy the car. The dealer ******** **** assured me that if I had any further issues to please call him. I paid for the balance due and drove away. The next day after only driving the car for thirty minutes on the freeway the steering wheel began to shake violently and my husband almost lost control of the vehicle. Upon my husband telling him what happened when he was driving ******** stated that, "Its the lift you must have hit a bump that triggered the shaking. You should not be up that high." ******** must have known that the vehicle had this issue and was dangerous to drive or he would not have known what caused it. I told the dealer I wanted to get the car towed back immediately for a refund. He refused to help me or take any responsibility in anyway. Stating only his manager could make these decisions and I could not speak to him.

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2021/12/27) */ Greetings, Vehicle was given to customer for a pre-sale inspection prior to the sale where they took the car for a professional pre-sale inspection at their choice of independent shop. Additionally, the vehicle was sold in AS-is- condition and no promises were made to repair any potential defects. Thanks, Mohammed ***** XXX-XXX-XXXX. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2021/12/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Dealer promised to fix loose seat and horn malfunction found during pre-sale inspection. Dealer did not live up to promise and did not fix anything. Upon buying the vehicle the dealer asked us to please contact him if we had any other issues and he would be happy to help. The vehicle was purchased for $6000 dollars and we were told it was in great condition. Upon driving the vehicle home the car starting shaking violently nearly causing an accident. The dealer seemed to know why this issue was happening but he said he could do nothing to remedy the situation. He did not disclose this information regarding the car shaking and not being safe to drive before I purchased this car. It was not disclosed until we called him from the side of the road. The worn bushings and loose sway bar that nearly caused us to wreck was not discussed with us during the inspection or from him before the purchase of the jeep. Upon taking the vehicle to Firestone additional issues with the vehicle that caused the violent shaking on the highway were revealed for the first time to me. I called Mohammad and asked to return the vehicle to the dealership as it was not in running order and could not stay at the Firestone. He agreed to take the car back. A week later he called telling me that he would not accept the car and I needed to get it. I told him I had no intention of doing that he sold me a faulty vehicle that was not worth $6000 and I had towed it back to Texas Select Auto because I wanted a refund. No one would knowingly pay $6000 for a broken down car. To sell someone a vehicle at this price and tell them it is in great condition is deceptive and misleading and is a violation of the consumer protection act and a deceptive trade practice. While we did by the car "as-is" that does not mean that it is fair or legal to knowingly mislead a customer. The "as-is' document I signed simply means that a warranty was not provided. Most business owners will accept a return if they had sold a customer a faulty item. Therefore, I don't see how the "As-IS" document is relevant in this situation. Attached is the sales reciept with date of sale, the estimate from Firestone after the initial inspection, reviews from customers on google, and another BBB complaint filed against this business. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/01/04) */ Greetings, We at Texas Select Autos, strive to provide our customers with the best used vehicles available in the market while maintaining fair prices and inspect / service all of our vehicles prior to listening them for sale. If any major problems are found, then the vehicle is not offered for retail sale at our retail lot. The Jeep in questions here is a lifted 1998 Jeep Cherokee with a solid front axle and are known to handle in such way and as the valued customer states, we explained to them how a lifted Jeep with solid front axle handles differently than other vehicles prior to sale.. We allowed the customer ample time to test drive and get it inspected at a 3rd party shop of their choice prior to sale. Furthermore, no promises, no guarantees were made to fix any potential repairs. Additionally, we do not pressure customers to make a purchase because we often put ourselves in our customer's position and can understand the process of buying a used vehicle can sometimes be challenging. That being said, I welcome the valued customer to contact me directly or any of our staff to help address any issues in good faith and have our mechanic check the customer's concerns because we offer flexible options to deal with repairs. Thanks, Mohamed ** ***** 469.XXXXXXX
