Currently suing this company for deceptive business practices. They won the bid on a new build commercial storefront by promising (in writing) that they could complete installation in 3 weeks. They were not the low bidder, but all of the other companies said custom herculite doors (half the job) were on a 6-week lead time - Action Glass reaffirmed they could get them and install them in 3 weeks. The usual 50% down payment was paid. They showed up at the end of their 3 weeks and spent three days to complete 50% of the work (the aluminum and glass half). They admitted that they hadn't ordered the herculite doors yet because they weren't confident in their measurements - sure enough they started in with endless excuses: backorders, lead time, trucks breaking down, endless staff turnover, blah blah blah. Long story short, they are now 10 months overdue, and they've racked up 32 no-call-no-show appointments. Once my attorneys contacted them they've severed all communications. At some point they waived the other 50% of payment due to their horrible failures and offered an additional set of storefront doors at no charge (which would have made all of this ok if they actually delivered on their numerous empty promises). The doors they have installed have failed City inspections, and they still haven't gotten the herculite doors from the manufacturer. I've had 3 companies come out to look at the existing work to see if it was something they could finish and all three companies said the craftsmanship is absolute crap. The doors are not square, they were cut down and resized (when they were bid as custom orders from the manufacturer), the gaps between doors were too big, and the tolerances above and below were too small (temperature changes cause the door to rub on the frame), and the locks don't set correctly. The doors were supposed to be anodized aluminum, one set was clearly purchased as bronze and THEY SPRAY PAINTED IT SILVER, like we wouldn't notice?!? The paint is rubbing off all over the place. It looks horrible. All three companies have said they would need to tear out the doors and start from scratch. And of course, the cost of aluminum is up 600% since we placed this order a year ago, so now we can't afford to just hire a new company.
