On March 1, 2023 I entered into a contract with Stalworth Construction to provide plans and an estimate for a full remodel of our house in ***********, *****. The cost of these were to be deducted from the price of the completed work. We met in person with the owner of 16 March 2023 at the house to discuss the plans and provided him with our budget of $100,000. We left the in person meeting in agreement and began waiting for the estimate to be sent. Over the next four months Stalworth construction set deadlines for the delivery of the estimate that they failed to meet on at least four separate occasions. He failed to show up to a video teleconference meeting on 16 JUN 23 and did not notify or reschedule until I contacted him again. This was after two missed deadlines that Stalworth had provided for the estimate. Stalworth sent the estimate on 28 JUL 23, nearly three months after the 30 days outlined in the initial contract. The estimate provided was over double the provided budget. Stalworth construction failed to notify us at any point or indicated that the estimate would be well over the budget. I declined the estimate in August 2023. After declining the estimate Stalworth construction has not contacted me to adjust the estimate or discuss future plans. Additionally, Stalworth Construction has ignored two emails and two phone calls to attempt to resolve the issue.Records of emails exchanged, missed deadlines, and missed meetings can be provided upon request. I hired Stalworth Construction to complete a remodel job for me. The hire date was June 3, 2022 and I was informed the work would take about 4 months. It we are 4 days shy of a year and the work still isnt complete. There is no sense of care or urgency to finish the job and there is still much to do. We have agreed on deadline after deadline and each is passed with little to no work completed each time.Initial Complaint

We signed a contract with Stalworth Construction on March 11, 2022, for a project which included building an outdoor kitchen along with some other updates to our outdoor living area. ************************* committed to having this project done by end of April in time for us to enjoy our outdoor space for the summer. As of today, October 3, no single component of this bid has been brought to completion and it has been over 6 weeks since any work has been performed. As this project is well past the promised completion date with no work performed since August 19, we contacted ************** to discuss an agreement on a partial refund of the over $26,000 that has already been paid for this project which remains very much incomplete so that we may move forward with finding someone else who will complete this project. On Sept. 21, ************** replied via text that we can and will reach an agreement but as of today, Oct. 3, ************** remains unresponsive to repeated attempts to contact him to discuss this agreement.Business response
