I need help resolving an issue. The complaint is against Border Engine Rebuilders in ******** *** I dropped of my vehicle on September 23, 2022 for a complete engine rebuild. Truck had a misfire, not a knocking noise, and leaked oil. The original price JD quoted me was $2850, so i thought it was within my budget. JD told me it would take about 1month maybe2 at most. On October 28th, 2022 i showed up and to my surprise JD told me it was ready. No one called me to tell me though. I paid $4000, which is over $1100 more than they had quoted me. No one asked me or gave me a heads up on this. I still paid. When picked up the truck that day, the truck was making a knocking noise, like loose marbles. Noise was coming from the engine compartment. At first, owner Oscar **** told me to take it to a muffler shop, he claimed it was the muffler. I took it to another mechanic he told me it was not the muffler. He said noise was coming from the engine. I took it back same day and Oscar **** told me he would look into it. I called on November 15, spoke to JD he said they ordered new lifters. 2 weeks later, no one called me, so i called on Dec. 1, 2022 and JD told me they ordered a valve. On Dec. 12th I showed up at the shop and motor on my truck was open, they still hadn't fixed it. Oscar ****, said to give him more time. The owner promised to call me as soon as he found the issue. He said he had ordered some parts to troubleshoot but they had not arrived. Today Jan. 2nd 2023, again no one had called me, i went to see what the progress was. Oscar **** tells me he found the problem, he said he ordered a different intake system, installed it and that there was no more engine knocking. I asked him why he did not call me or why he did not leave it on so I could verify. He said he did not want to bother me. He said as long as he knew he did it , he did not have to prove it. Bottom line is my truck is still making a knocking noise. They never call, not once.
