I came into Car-Mart on sunshine in ***********, ** in August to buy purchase a 2013 ***** equinox. Upon test driving the vehicle the check engine light came on and was flashing. They ran the codes and 3 items came back. I was told they would order parts and fix no charge. I then proceeded to purchase vehicle, putting down ****. I left and brought my car back when the parts came in. They called me when car was ready, offered no paperwork showing what had been done. Within a week the check engine light was back on and flashing. I took to autozone and had codes ran, same codes popped up. Got a print off went back and spoke to **, he pulled the paperwork from last time and they had not fixed all 3 parts as agreed. He said they would order these parts and call me when ready. When they called I brought back, after installing those parts it did not fix issue. I was then told the motor was blown and had to be replaced, that they would replace it. It was ordered on the 5th. I was able to take car but car would not go past 30 miles per hour without violently shaking and stalling. By the 14th the 3-5 days I was told it would take for motor to be had long passed and still no motor was in. I called the 800 number to file a complaint. My first payment was due the following day on the 15th and I hadnt been able to drive a working car since I purchased it. They told me to go in or call and speak with manager, my payment would be waived. They confirmed motor was ordered but not in yet. I called the following day and spoke with Esquire the ** who told me there were no notes in my account, I hadnt called anyone, and he was rude. I spoke with ****** the service manager who again said no motor. ** helped me pay an interest only payment, by end of day motor was in and car was dropped off. I was told told the job would be started Saturday, car would be done 1-3 days. 7 days later I got my car- immediately upon starting dude. Sensor was out. I purchased and replaced. My car was repossessed January of 2021. I have a right to receive information regarding this account so I can handle it properly; however, the company refuses to provide me the information and circumstances of the repossession, such as how much the car was sold for, or if they will accept my payment to resolve this account. I consider it abusive to deny me my right to this information, as it improperly damages my ability to obtain new credit that I could obtain if my new lenders had the proper data. Colonial Auto Finances tactic of hiding this data to further punish me is illegal.
