Purchased a home built by this builder in October 2020. The home was completed late 2013. May 2021 discovered a roof leak. **** French, the owner of T.A. French Custom Builders, said his warranty was only good for one year.June 2021 I had a **** certified roof inspector inspect the roof. He found that there was a construction deficiency.Pursuant to Article ****** of the ***** Property Code, and as notice of warranty claim pursuant to Article ******* ***** Property Code setting the warranty period for major structural components at 10 years.T.A. French was contacted to resolve this issue as this builder is clearly liable for this deficiency and the resulting damage, but has yet to respond whatsoever.

We had challenges with the ** French project manager (no longer with the company) almost immediately after construction began. There were many problems: installation of electric fire place before roof, poor wall finishes, poor finish work, windows not properly installed, under cabinet LED lights not installed, faulty breakers installed, electrical connections not made as recorded in breaker box, purposely hidden faulty facia board, failed water heater, knocking in water pipes, water filtration system that sounded like a tank idling in the house and rattled the dishes, missing dimmer switches, failed windows that allowed major air infiltration, to name a few. The projected exceeded the time allowed by our lender, ** French accepted no responsibility. We were required to pay our lender a $3,500 fine. Quality control is lacking. The owner picks and chooses what deficiencies identified by their independent inspector get repaired. The inspector documented with thermal photographs master bedroom and sunroom windows required repair. The PlyGem window representative and warranty manager inspected the same failed windows. We were told the windows should be expected to allow air to infiltrate the house! We were told to put cotton ***** in the windows to stop air infiltration! We are still awaiting intervention from the manufacturer. We paid $27,000 to replace windows that failed in less than a year. I provided pictures documenting the windows were not fully sealed, only in the corners. No response was received from ** French. No response was received when I provided a photo of a small piece of wood stapled in place and caulked to hide defective facia that rotted. We selected the builder based on reputation. Not what we expected. When attempting to address is***s with the owner just prior to closing, he suggested we *** him. The punch list was open for 17 months. They make commitments and do not follow through or change their position. Buyer beware.
