On 9/28/2023, I purchased an AKC registered two year old male blue Heeler from ******************************* and her husband ******************* ******** located in ************* **. She advertised the dog via ******** on a group that she is the administrator of. We communicated via ******** Messenger and text. She stated the dog was 2 years old, AKC registered, health guaranteed, negative for heart worms, and on monthly prevention. She stated that for $1500 I would also have "full registration, could breed, and no strings." I was required to pay $750 deposit via Cash App to ************.She offered to meet half way since I was 2 hours away from *************, **. Her husband showed up 2 1/2 hours past our meeting time with an emaciated dog that had scars on his face and ears, so skinny you could see his ribs and back bone, and no registration papers. ***** stated she would be sending registration codes via email. I was skeptical to pay the remaining balance due to the condition of the dog and no registration papers, so ***** agreed I could give him $250 cash and pay the remaining $500 when I got the registration papers. On our way home, ******* texted me asking when she could expect the balance? She stated she never gives the papers until she has payment in full. I stated that she was getting the full payment in cash when I picked up the dog. She stated if I didn't send her the $500 within the hour she would be filing Theft of Services charges against me. Against my better judgement, I sent her the remaining $500 via Cash App. ******* quit responding to any of my text messages once she got full payment. After repeatedly asking when I could expect the registration papers and receiving no response, I shared my experience with the ********** on ******** and warned buyers to beware. I have since learned this is how they do business. They sell AKC registered dogs, take your money, and never provide the registration papers. My dog also tested positive for heart worms.
