Took my **** *** 325i to have a coolant leak fixed. Coolant leaking from two hoses underneath the intake manifold. I had zero vacuum leaks prior to bringing in the car. I knew the intake manifold would have to be removed so new gaskets would be expected. What I didnt expect was for the mechanic to break the air intake hose and the air metering boot then charge me for the parts and labor for those two items. After driving two blocks I noticed a significant vacuum leak, so I went back to the mechanic and was told it would cost me more money for them to fix the vacuum leak that they obviously caused. Furthermore when replacing the coolant hoses a significant amount of coolant is lost in the process, the mechanic replaced the coolant with regular water, which is a big no no on ***s or any modern car. He didnt charge me for the water but $77 epa charge which is probably a flat percentage of the final bill. If he would pay for the parts he broke then he could adjust the epa fee accordingly and the issue would be resolved 100 percent and no further action will be taken. I have already replaced the water with coolant and fixed the vacuum leak myself.

As For the vehicle in question it was a repair for ************************************** and the vehicle was towed into our facility in a non-running state. The vehicle had apparently been at  two other repair facilities prior to ours, I do not know what took place at or why the car was not repaired at them.

The **** *** 325i  towed in needed many different repairs including  multiple leaks as well as vacuum leaks. To address the statement that we broke the air intake hose and air meter boot is false as they were already damaged upon arrival and needed replaced. Had they not been replaced the car would not have been able to drive. We in fact did not charge the customer the cost of labor to install those parts we included them into the current labor charge instead of individualizing the labor cost. Which actually tried to  saved the customer money, the best we can. Had they went to the dealership the would have been charged parts and labor for each individual component corrected. To address the statement that we didnt use coolant is also not correct our coolant has a  50/50 mixture rate which includes coolant and distilled water. We completed the repair we were authorized to do. The customer did however decline other repairs that are greatly needed.

I tried to respond via BBB portal and it would not allow for me to do so. It kept saying no action needed.

      Best Regards ,
