Moved in to our new home in December of 2019. Saved up monies to get a stone wall around our flowerbed like many of the neighbors in our new community. A year later had the $1750 quoted to get the project done. They showed up did the job and within a year the wall had cracks and was pulling apart from itself. I unboxed the owner and initially he told me he didn't have enough workers due to COVID. Then after almost 6 months he told me he'd have to charge me for labor and materials. After I emphatically refused he sent workers to do a really bad patch job which made things look even worse. After I unboxed him about the patch job not resolving the issue he then blamed the freeze for the cracks. He then tried to say the excessive heat in 2022 contributed to the cracks. After I replied that none of the walls my neighbors have around their flowerbeds are cracked and are older and that my wall was cracked in 2021 before this heatwave he finally responded that he can't be responsible for acts of God. Now he won't respond to any of my messages. $1750 is a lot of money to just throw away. I wouldn't use this company ever again, even if they worked for free. The shoddy workmanship and cavalier attitude really has me kicking myself for not doing more due diligence in selecting a contractor i.e. asking my neighbors. Save your money and frustration by steering clear of this outfit.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/02) */ The work I completed September of 2020 was in excellent shape when I left the jobsite. So much that he had me come back to do additional planting in the flower bed the following spring. I do have a warranty of 90 days. The amount said was 1350.00 and that included more items than just the stone border which was 900.00 for the stonework the additional 450.00 was for weeding and trimming the flower bed, removing existing dead plants, adding plants and mulch. So I'm confused on where 1750.00 came from. The client then reach out November 30 2021 complaining about a few areas where the mortar had come loose in the joints, which is very common. Especially after having a winter that we haven't seen in over 100years in north Texas February 2020. It was so bad peoples pools were damaged, tile, coping etc. I followed up and let the client know that we could come and patch the joints when we were in the area but wasn't sure when that would be. I said I can stop by for the cost of labor if he needs it done that fast. Even though it was out of warranty. A couple of months later after receiving multiple threatening messages we were finally in the neighborhood on a job and I stopped by to patch the joints. Now we have had one of the hottest summers on record of temps over 110 for 2 months and no rain. Everyone's ground is shifting and causing other issues. Now I guess he is not happy because he posted the work on the neighborhood page and everyone's response was that was normal so he didn't get the feedback he wanted so then he came here to post a bad review. I stand by all of my work but I cannot control extreme weather and acts of god! Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The amount was $1350. I reached out for flowerbed work only because it was the only company I knew in the area and I thought he could fix the cracks while removing dead plants. I have been diligent in making sure I'm not being unrealistic by looking at similar walls of my neighbors that were built before our wall and they fo not have cracks or are not pulling apart. This wasn't a function of acts of God, but shoddy workmanship and poor quality. A couple of small hairline cracks isn't unrealistic, but a wall that is pulling apart in several areas after only 12 months is totally unacceptable even after a patch job. If the vendor had told me that the wall wouldn't last a year and he wouldn't stand by it I would've never gone through with the purchase. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/08/13) */ Unfortunately I only carry a 90 Day warranty. I take care of all of my customers that's reach out within the warranty and the ones outside of warranty I help the best I can but will not tolerate threatening messages and hateful messages on other posts of jobs I have completed. I wish we didn't have a snow storm of over 100 years and then a heat index of an avg 107 for 70 plus days and 70 days without rain which never helps anything in the ground. It's an unfortunate matter that is out of my control and out of my warranty. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/08/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Stop it! No one threatened you. I only asked that you stand by your work. You are not the victim here. We never spoke of warranty. I am not the only customer you've done this to. You cannot answer why similar walls in our community that endured the same winter and the Super hot summer (which was 2022 and not 2021) are still standing without cracks and the one you built is falling apart.
