I set up an appointment over a week ago with Vision 20/20 and when I arrived at the appointment today, October 9th, I filled out paperwork and gave them my insurance. The office manager mentioned that the insurance is supposed to be ran the day before the appointment. They never did so she took it to get that done. I got called to the back and services were rendered. When I walked out of the back, the receptionist ran the insurance and said they didnt take the insurance, therefore charging me $274. I kept having her check as other coworkers had been there before and they were in-network and they had taken me back so I assumed they ran the insurance. Sure enough after I left and paid because I didnt know how to handle it at the moment, I called the insurance and they were out of network. I called the office manager and she was rude and said services were rendered and that they were a private business so there was nobody I could complain to for the insurance not having been ran beforehand and they could refund me 20%. I told her if I had known that they were not in network as they were going to check before, I would NOT have gone thru with the appointment. I couldve and should have gone to ******* for a professional setting. Their receptionist looked overloaded with paperwork half the time but hey, I figured she knew what she was doing. She was nice but she didnt do her job before advising me they didnt take my insurance.
