      Full details and documentation are provided in the attached pdf.I hired W&C Lawncare for a yard re-grading project. We discussed the scope of work in detail both in-person and in text messages, and he provided a quote. I agreed to the quote and paid the required 50% upfront. About a month later, when W&C Lawncare was ready to start the job, the owner came to my house and proceeded to tell me that he would need to charge more money for the same scope of work that was previously agreed to. I refused to pay more money when we already had an agreement and the owner refused to do the work for the agreed amount. The owner then refused to refund my deposit in full even though no work was done or materials were purchased and he was refusing to do the work.I eventually received a check for $564.94 of the $1,200 deposit I paid. I still have not received the remainder of my deposit.

      Im very sorry to hear this review as I tried our best to resolve this matter.

      The invoice and discussions did not include compacting the soil which would have increased the price of the project nor did we agree on doing the compaction.  Please review the attached image of the discussion which was removed from the customers provided images.

      Our policy is to charge 50% of the invoice in order to operate our business.  The owner was provided an invoice which did not include compaction. The owners Paid the 50% deposit of the invoice.  We need to do this to secure our resources and we lose business turning away other customers for the same time.

      As a sign of good faith we offered to give the customer 75% of the deposit back, but since the customer did not agree we game him 50% of the deposit which the customer did cash.

      Attached is also the original invoice.  

      We are sorry we could not make the customer happy.

      I am rejecting this response because: The contractor canceled the job and refused to issue a refund for the deposit. I did not cancel the job; the contractor refused to do the agreed job for the agreed price therefore he voided the agreement. Look at the evidence provided in the pdf documentation...very clear.
