Ovron scammed us pretending to be an HP support person, taking my PayPal account to help fix my printer. Then, they scared me by claiming there were a ton of viruses on my computer and for $299 they would port into my computer and solve the problem. They then installed TeamViewer, which essentially hacked into my computer stole my passwords, and then I had several charges on my credit card that were fraudulent. By getting access to control my computer, they saw all my files, my email accounts, my passwords, and my PayPal account was fraudulently charged. This was a social engineering scam as they prayed on me, scaring me into paying them and giving them access to my computer.

I had a problem with my HP 4100 printer. Desparate to get it fixed, I googled HP Support and clicked on the link to chat. The chat person connected me to ****** at what I thought was a technition. He said he could fix the problem with the printer and it would cost $149.99 and he would also remove several malware programs on my MacMini2. I spent the next hour going through various attempts to fix it. Finally got it to print but I had to unplug and replug the printer each time for each document. He charged me $160.99 for "service". Then he recommended I buy a protection plan to stop future malware problems. He gave me three options 3-yr plan for $199; five yr plan for $399; and a "life time" plan for $799. I told him I was retired on SSN and then he offered me a 50% discount. Told him I had to wait until July 10 when I get my SSN check before doing anything. After pressuring me to buy any plan today, he offered me a 1-yr plan, but I still declined. So he said he would call me back on 7/10.I then called HP Service directly. I was told that my printer was still under warranty and there would be NO charge. I also called Apple Support and they fixed a connection problem; also charged me nothing.I googled "Ovron Scam" and several complaints had been submitted by other people with similar stories. I feel duped by a high pressure sales pitch when I was frantic to get my printer fixed.Do not use this service! I would like a refund of myu $160.99 plus now I am worried that they may have actually put new malware on my computer.
