I left my dogs at Canine Republic on Sunday (10/09) afternoon for a boarding stay. I picked them up on Wednesday (10/12) morning. My male dog had a small wound (what looks like a bite mark) on his face (otherwise, he seems fine- I put ointment on his wound), and my female dog was very lethargic and had blood matted in her tail / around her behind areas. I immediately noticed this when I took my dogs home and my female started peeing blood. I took my female to the vet where she was given a prescription to take for five days for the stress and anxiety she was experiencing. The vet also informed me that my female was dehydrated and they needed to run a urinalysis (my dog will be on antibiotics as well following the results of the urinalysis). My female is on a prescription diet because she is prone to UTIs / crystals in the kidneys resulting in blood in her urine. Canine Republic was provided with her prescription food and instructions. The owner of Canine Republic told me to take responsibility for my dog being sick while she was in his care. He also said they are not veterinary professionals and would have no way of knowing my dog was peeing blood / had a UTI. At the very least, I would like the facility to reimburse me for the vet visit as well as the boarding fee. I would like them to acknowledge that they should be held responsible for not taking proper care of my dogs.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/10/19) */ Customer alleged that my facility "gave her dog a UTI". Customer returned to my business demanding a full refund for services provided and reimbursement for her vet bills because we were at fault for causing her pet's UTI. I disagreed that we were liable for causing the suspected UTI and I did say that I would like to see the Urinalysis results from her vet proving that the dog indeed had a UTI and that my facility caused this to happen to her dog. The customer's veterinarian clinic called my business on 10/17/22 at 3:23pm and left a voicemail stating that client's dog Nala does not have a UTI and there was no bacteria growth found in her Urinalysis culture. We will not be refunding the client for services rendered, nor will we be paying her vet bill. Not sure what the dog's ailment may be at this time, but the allegations of my facility causing a UTI are false and unfounded. I can forward the voicemail that the client's veterinarian clinic left for me, I have a saved copy that I can email. Voicemail is in a wave file format and unfortunately can not be uploaded but I can email it for your records.
