I purchased a new Chevrolet Silverado in 2017 from Dave Smith Motors. At the time of the purchase, I already had adequate insurance to cover the vehicle. The salesman (****) told me I could obtain extended vehicle coverage for a period of 96 months. He said the money I paid for this new policy would be refunded in total at the end of the 96-month term, assuming no money was paid out by the policy. He stressed this several times during the sale. It is now 2024 and the term has ended and at no time did I collect off the insurance policy. The amount Dave Smith Motors owes me is $3,995.00. I contacted DSM, but they refuse to pay. Can you help me with this?

I traded in a vehicle I purchased with them with extender warranty and gaap insurance and some policy cancelation was initiated on January 29. They processed 2 separate checks on February 27 and I have received only one check. I have been asking for the second check for a few days past and they are not responding my emails. They still owe me a check for $961.68. I asked them to void that initial check and reissue a check but they did not responded me.

Purchased a Honda Civic on August 4th and they had to replace an engine mount before I took it so the day I picked it up and left with it I had to turn around and take it back because they forgot to bolt things back in place so there was a part hitting my tire(I have pics and video) then August 9th I told the dealership about the radio malfunctioning and referred to the extended warranty that I purchased that the man said included the radio and electrical. On August 12th I was sent a ss of the warranty info and in writing it does not say the radio is covered. He said he was waiting for the loan officer that sold it to me to be in office to speak to me. August 29th the loan officer responded telling me it is not covered. He doesnt know what I think I heard. That day the salesman had me drop the car off at an audio place to see the problem. The issue as i described is if you turn the radio up loud ish it shuts off and if you are listening to the radio it changes channels randomly and sometimes continuously and same if you are using *************** it will change the song without prompt. They said the radio shutting off was because of a blown speaker (which the salesman offered to cover the cost) and they thought the other issues are because of a malfunction between the steering wheel controls and the radio which will be close to $1,000 to fix approximately and they are saying that is on me. Today is 9/28 and I am still waiting to even get the speaker fixed. Two issues. I payed extra for the extended warranty because I cant afford an extra expense of that amount and they were told about the issue within 5days. Is there something I can do?

On April 15,2023 I purchased a 2017 ****** *** **** ****** ** ***** **. I made 3 different trips to this dealership 4/8, 4/10, and 4/14. The purchase price online and on some of the finance paper work is $21,999. On the Bill of Sale, the price shows $24,500. I was also charged for anti-left etching and three other service plans that I were not explained to me. I tried to question the “amount financed” and the finance person Brandon Baca redirected me to the online purchase price. The copies of the documents have a solid white line near the price of the vehicle and I was assured I was being charged the $21,999 which was not true. I was charged $24,500 as stated on the bill of sale and registration paperwork. They also had me signing some documents on an **** and some on paper and had to re-sign for various reasons. At one point, a completely different sales person was assisting me Antonio B**** On my second visit to the dealership, he had me wait for an hour then asked me to make out the check for my down payment. Antonio said he’d update me on the car by Friday 4.14.2024 but never called. I was not treated fairly and lied to because I am a female. The workers are 90% male and whispered comments/ laughed when I’d leave the room/area. The salesmen Jereme Sandoval was deceiving and unprofessional for multiple reasons including but not limited to failing to provide the temporary registration, lying about the purchase price of the car, lying about when the car would be ready, and not filling up the car with gas before I drove it off the lot. I was taken advantage of and disrespected purely based on the fact that I am female. I am having trouble uploading the documentation. Is there an email address I can send the documents to?

-Various dates: starting in the spring of 2022 -Undetermined: I refinanced my vehicle, and the warranty cancellation effective date began 12/29/2022 -Unauthorized vehicle warranty cancellation -The company refunded both the vehicle warranty and GAP coverage (according to **** ***** accounting in Kellogg, ID) where I did not request a vehicle warranty refund upon refinancing. Now, I have no vehicle warranty and can't afford one. The initial purchase of the vehicle included the warranty which stays with the life of the vehicle unless requested otherwise. I did not request a vehicle warranty refund just a GAP coverage refund. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars repairing my jeep WITH the warranty. So, canceling the warranty when I refinanced makes no sense. I will go broke without a vehicle warranty. I would claim a "lemon law" on the Jeep but there is no such thing in the state of Idaho. I love the Jeep, but it has cost a fortune to upkeep. -Sonic Automotive, since August 23, 2022, has shifted me from department to department. Each department claims another department handles such issues. I have reached out over the telephone, email, and Twitter "Sonic Automotive" support direct message. And they want me to go through mounds and mounds of paperwork when they know full well their financing department has the paperwork which does not include a request to refund the warranty. Also, they simply will not pick up the phone and call me, as I have requested many, many times! -Sonic Automotive bought **** ***** Motors where I purchased my vehicle. 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude VIN: 1C4PJMCS5FWXXXXXX. Plate: KXXXXXX. The warranty refund = $1858.00 (which I did not request) and that amount is the total amount of the check I received. So, where is my GAP coverage refund? Protective Contract #: ANWX XXXXXXXXXX. **** ***** finance ignores my voicemail messages to this day. Sonic Automotive ignored BBB complaint #XXXXXXXX. Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2023/02/20) */ Ms. ****** is accurate that her vehicle warranty was cancelled by mistake instead of her GAP policy. A Check for $1858 was sent to her on 2/11/22, and deposited on 2/14/22. On 8/5/22 Ms. ****** inquired about her warranty being cancelled; at that time it was discovered that the Warranty was cancelled instead of the GAP policy as requested. It was explained to Ms.****** that the check she received for $1858 far exceeded the $895 she paid originally for GAP, and that it was clearly a mistake that should have been caught prior to depositing the funds. We explained that we would be able to re-instate the vehicle warranty if she returned funds, and the $895 GAP cancellation would be returned to her, which she said she was not able to do. We are more than willing to process the GAP cancellation and provide a new warranty, but she will need to purchase one at her own expense. Date of transaction October 27, 2022 Paid $4,500 for an extended warranty for a vehicle just purchased. The transaction was cancelled two hours later and was informed I would have to fill out a cancellation sheet which I filled out and returned on November 7, 2022. I gave the dealership a few weeks to return my money and called on Wednesday November 30th and was informed they were going to send the money to the loan ******* of **** however I paid with a credit card. I have checked with loan ******* and they have not received any thing. The question is why would they send the money to the loan ******* when the warranty was not part of the loan. I have tried four times this week to contact the finance ***************** and he has not returned my call. It is more than time for me to get my money back..

I requested a vehicle warranty cancellation from ********** on August 30th 2022 and spoke to *************************************************** and filled out the associated paperwork and it would be processed and a check would be sent out to me as soon as processing gets completed. Fast forward to November 10th, 2022 and I still do not have my refund, I've talked to ***** over email several times and received a number of reasons why i haven't received my refund but she kept saying that it will be done soon and I should get my check but still have not several months later. I just want my refund and to be spoken to straight and not be given the run around over and over.

Yes I have received the check, I ask you don't do this to anyone else and have a process in place that prevents this from happening again in the future.

On March 3, 2020, I placed an order with Dave Smith Motors for a new Chevrolet Corvette and paid a $1,000 deposit (no receipt was provided but it appears on my credit card statement). Significant time passed, which was expected, and in early June, 2022 I was notified by Dave Smith that my allocation was up and that my vehicle would soon be under construction. On August 25, I was informed that my pickup date of September 8, 2022 was confirmed and I was provided with VIN#. Later that day I purchased plane tickets for my family and made hotel reservation in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the event. Total cost was $1,065.18. Receipts available. On August 26, 2022, the salesman Darrell Andrews and his sales Manager Jax (I do not remember his last name) and their General Sales Manager (whose name I also do not remember) called me and said that they would not sell me the car if I planned on selling it. This prohibition caught me totally off guard as I had never been told of any sort of rule in the 2+ years that I had been communicating with them about this purchase. I received no further communications from anyone at Dave Smith Motors. I was never told that my order was cancelled. I received the following communication from the National Corvette Museum Staff on August 29, "We have been notified by your dealer that they are not going to be selling the car to you and to cancel the appointment for your delivery. If you need further information please contact them as we cannot go against the GM dealer's determination in this." Dave Smith Motors has not returned my deposit and given that they cancelled the order without my approval, in fact specifically against my request, they should cover the non-refundable travel costs I paid for in following their process. . The total owed to me and that I am asking to be reimbursed for is $2,065.18. Attached is a copy of my communication (sent multiple times) to them which has gone unanswered.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/15) */ After discussing this issue with the team at Dave Smith Motors we were provided with proof that a refund was provided for the initial $1,000 deposit for the order which was cancelled this has been uploaded and provided to BBB. As General Motors has strict guidelines for dealer's regarding consumers re-selling New vehicles, when the dealership learned of Mr. ********'s plans to re-sell his ordered vehicle they cancelled the order to avoid penalty to protect their standings with General Motors. We apologize Mr. ******** feels this was not properly communicated, but a refund for his order has been provided.
