      I had water damage in my master bedroom and bathroom, Jeff B***** was referred to me and we connected Oct 24th. He worked with my insurance company for mitigation portion and we agreed on a the rebuild. My insurance company paid Jeff directly $5,821.41 on December 27,2022 for the mitigation portion of this insurance claim and sent me a check for $10,038.60 which Jeff took and deposited in his bank account using a 3rd party process so that we could begin the rebuild work vs waiting for my mortgage sign it and have it clear through those channels. To date, Jeff's subcontractors have only been here 2 days. I have text messages over the last 8 weeks that details his written schedule to have the work completed only to have no one show up. I asked 7 times for a timeline and work schedule only to receive excuses on delays and am still with no master bathroom or bedroom. I told him yesterday that I want him to line item what he has spent to date on his subcontractors (which should be minimal with 2 days only) and product he has purchased and want a refund for the remaining monies. At first he said ok and now he is telling me I'm in breach on contract. This is a small job and should take two weeks tops to complete; he just keeps lying about when his subs will show and continues with excuses. I don't know if this matters but he has issues with 9 other homeowners and his sister recently quit working for him because he owes her over $6000 for work she has done. I just want to start with another contractor, pay him for what he has done and purchased and get reimbursed.
