I am writing to complain about the unlawful and unfair treatment I have received as a customer of Bell General Contractor. This company doesn't exist, Antonio Bellolio runs it, acting as a General Contractor without a license. First, he gave us an estimated of 13,447.50 including removal of existing carpet, tile and installation of new floors plus materials, all included. In total at the end we paid 15,700 dollars. We got all the laminate for our home, and he never discounted all the cost of the materials from the budget. Secondly, he came up with a new estimate for only the installation of the flooring, the estimate was for 11,287.00, it made zero sense, because his materials were a total of $3,060.40, he didn't reduce them. Third when the flooring company stopped to do the work, they told us that Antonio said that it was an empty home, no furniture. Therefore, Antonio again wanted to add an extra $ 800.00 for the furniture. Then we had to move super heavy furniture ourselves, and also carry all the material inside the house. The flooring company worked solid for two weeks installing the floors, Antonio never stopped to monitor or make sure that everything was being done correctly. We had to act as the project managers throughout the entire time. The workers told us that from our advance check to Antonio of 7,587.43 dollars, Antonio paid them only $3800.00 and he wanted to hold the rest of their money. They were not his employees as he had stated on numerous occasions, they didn't work for Antonio. The final day, we called Antonio to give him the final check; we wanted to be over with him and his nightmare service, but he rejected the check and said that he had to increase the budget. Therefore, we decided to pay the flooring company straight. Per Texas state law this made anyone working in our home our employees and gave us the responsibility to pay them for the work that was completed.Please stop this fraudelent person for scamming other families.
