******************We have been customers of ******************** for many years. They have always been the most reliable company we have ever used. The reason for that is they are honest. You don't find that very often in the heating and air business. All of their technicians are very knowledgeable, so friendly and always on time. They explain everything they have done, and answer all of my questions. Also their office personnel are great too. So helpful in getting help to us as soon as possible and getting the information to the techs that are going to help us. I should also say that when you have employees like this, that those at the top have to be pretty darn good too. Over the years we keep seeing the same technicians and office personnel. That says a lot. I will continue to say , good work, and above all HONESTY has kept me a customer of ********************.Review from Brett B

My upstairs unit has a small leak, I am aware of that and have been adding 1-2lbs of refrigerant for the last couple of *******, once a year. Each of these annual calls has been through a home warranty company. Each year, they send a different company and they add a couple pounds and all is great until the next year. Until... I met Service Contractors of Texas. I was not home at the time of the service call and this technician proceeded to tell my wife that our evaporator coil has rusted and must be replaced. A total of $2,275 out of pocket on TOP of the warranty for a new evaporator coil (due to rust) along with, Sediment drain ($255); drain kit ($295); float switch ($285); armaflex ($145); locking caps ($145- these are optional and prevent theft of refrigerant, we live in a gated community and did not ask for these); plus $1,120 for the 14lbs of refrigerant to fill the new coil. We asked if he could just charge the existing unit and he said no, due to the rusted coil.I googled "rusted evaporator coil" and quickly learned that this is quite common and absolutely does not mean the coil needs to be replaced, in some situations yes. I called a different company and they came out and added 3lbs of refrigerant for a total of $350. My AC is now 68 degrees and working great like it always does after my yearly service call. I showed the new technician the invoice from Service contractors of TX and his words were, "this is bullsh*t". So for $350 I got fixed what Service Contractors of TX wanted to charge me $2,275 for a new coil or $6,250 for a new 14.3lb unit. There was also a charge for 14lbs of refrigerant, which the new tech said that new units come fully charged and you do not add any refrigerant. Total scam to try and sell you a new AC unit or additional expensive parts. When you get a nail in your tire, do you buy 4 brand new tires? I don't. Thanks for nothing Service Contractors of **. We are sorry that you feel this way but, if you have been adding freon yearly to the same unit this is not a correct repair. It is a temporary fix. American Home Shield requires us to do a repair correctly. Adding freon to a known leak is not a good repair. It is like adding air to a tire that you know is leaking.Review from Richard M. A

I have American Home Shield and put in a service call to repair my AC, that wouldn't come on. I submitted the ticket on Sunday and Service Contractors of Texas called me, first thing, on Monday morning. ******* came out that same afternoon and did a thorough job of examining the system. It turned that my Generac had come on during a storm and disabled the *** I did a quick reset on the Generac and it was working again. I applaud Service Contractors of Texas for their prompt service, friendly and professional technician. They could've easily tried to tell me I needed things, that I really didn't need, but instead made sure I was working again, without taking advantage. It's refreshing to see that kind of service these days. When the time comes for replacement or repairs, that will come out of my pocket; they will be the first company I think of for that job.Review from Paul F

I had an excellent experience with Service Contractors of Texas. They were sent out by my home warranty company because my AC unit was not blowing cool air. Upon arrival the Technician knew exactly what the issue was and it was covered under my warranty. The Tech was professional, knowledgeable and before he left he gave me tips on maintaining my unit. It's been a week and I have not had any further issues with my unit. Based on my experience, I recommend them.Review from Robert S

Exceptional service. The blower on my A/C would not cycle off. It ran continuously. I report the issue to my home warranty company on Sunday morning and ******* from Service Contractor called that afternoon to schedule service the following day. ****, the technician, arrived as promised on Monday during the promise time frame and promptly diagnosed the problem and repaired my system. ******* and **** are both professionals and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Service Contractors of Texas for air conditioner maintenance and repair.Service Contractors of Texas, Inc. Response

Check out their reviews on Yelp. For several months I have had issues with this company. Originally they were sent out by my home warranty company for routine maintenance on my AC unit before the summer heat. Not once did the tech mention any issues with the unit, but the next day I noticed my unit stopped cooling. They returned after the weekend and told me the compressor needed to be fully replaced. The tech and paperwork from both visits never mentioned any other issues with my unit. When my warranty company sent me an estimate, SCT said my unit was out of code and I would need to pay almost $500 more than what my warranty company would pay to repair the compressor. Many times, they told me a compressor, even refurbished would be several thousand dollars (but covered by my warranty), and I must get my unit up to code before they could repair it. Unbeknownst to SCT, I had 3 home inspections in the last 4 years and not once did the city inspectors tag me for my AC being out of code. When I started asking questions to understand better, I was dismissed and no one gave me straight answers. Ultimately I felt it best to go with the cash out option on my warranty since SCT was not being transparent. They continued to be dishonest by telling my warranty company that now the costs would be less than $900 for all repairs including the almost $500 for code violations. When I called to get more information, ****** in the front office was wonderful but her boss talked over me, would not hear my questions, and yelled at me for no reason. He was an absolute bully that can not justify his dishonest business. I have tried many times to get answers or come to a good solution, but repeatedly this guy treats me with disrespect and rudeness. He and his dishonesty have truly earned zero stars.Service Contractors of Texas, Inc. Response

We have repeatedly, AND I DO MEAN REPEATEDLY, attempted to explain to this homeowners coverage limitations to them so many times that we politely have wore our selves out attempting to do so. It is not our company that decides warranty company limitations but instead that of the warranty company itself. We have directed her back to her warranty company more than once. We ended our conversation again with that advice to her.Review from Jeffrey K

We have used Service Contractors of Texas for over 10 years now. They do great work. The technicians are very knowledgeable. We have used them for standard maintenance and replacing older coils and whole indoor/outdoor units. They are fairly priced and very responsive. I highly recommend Service Contractors of Texas and give them 5 out of 5 stars!
