*******************************/XD Contracting was hired to remodel 2 bathrooms & 1 bedroom. He only did 2 bathrooms & did not do everything agreed upon. He relayed that I did not purchase correct sink fixtures for master bathroom. After letting the shower grout dry I noticed puddling and asked how it could be corrected. He relayed that he saw it & said a fix would be to put a show mat down. Throughout the master bath remodel & on his Instagram he referred to my ********** as "amazing customers". For the hall bath he gave me an initial quote for everything we spoke about & what he recommended. Toward the end of the work he sent me a text message relaying his price went up due to the amount of tile he was putting up even though it was already added in the original quote. Because his message stated he needed price confirmation before continuing I relayed it would be fine & I would like to see changes first to allow him to finish the work agreed upon. In the end, master bath was not complete & he wanted full payment. He had already received full payment for an incomplete master ******** was not going to do that again. I agreed to pay him the original price. After his work, I had to hire someone to complete what he did not, they did not have any issues with the fixtures I purchased. Now 2 months later, my hall bath toilet has begun to rock. I had to hire a plumbing company, they relayed that **************** removed too much of the pipe for them to replace the seal and would have to dig underneath the house foundation to replace the pipes. While down there they found that he placed an "uncodable" shower pipe. When the plumbers saw that, they inquired about other areas to which they relayed that the "shark bite" plumbing connections he utilized are temporary and should not be utilized on the shower pipes. In the end I did not have 1 fully working bathroom, had to pay more to correct my *************** pipe & still need shower ************** corrected. His website reflects plumbing. Untrue.

After reviewing this complaint. There are many inaccurate pieces of information. For one I specifically told ***************** that she needed a licensed plumber to come and get her drains and water lines sorted out. She then hired her neighbor who stated that the work we did was sufficient. Keep in mind that the neighbor is a "licensed plumber" so I then reminded her that if we proceed with the way the previous contractor or plumber did the work then she would be liable for whatever happens. They said ok. "As long as it works" I then told her that it would work but honestly the pipes are old and you already have had several issues with multiple plumbers and they have all told you that you needed to repipe the house. The toilet "rocking" was a issue that was happening before we even started. They failed to mention on their complaint that they had 3 different plumbers including a supervisor come and tell them that the plumbing is messed up throughout the house. So all we did was replace the tile in the master and I have photos of completion. Minus a piece of trim. That is what the customer is stating that I didn't finish. I don't see the problem as we ran the shower for 30 minutes while they cooked us dinner and gave us a thousand dollar tip for all the "extra" work.
The hall bath was a tub removal and we literally replaced a whole wall of studs and plates. So I told them that this would be extra because we had no idea of the impact on the framing from their leaking pipes and tub. This is from before we ever added any plumbing ourselves. I then asked them to get their neighbor. The "licensed plumber" to come and fix the lines and again fotvyhe response of "just make it work". So after rub removal it turned out that there had to be a platform built for the shower pan. This is a 10 inch step up into the shower. This was completely their idea as she got a loan to do one bathroom but with my quote was able to do both bathrooms. And in the terms of the loan they needed a walk in shower in the hallway. But we all knew that it was a phony excuse. As ***************** and her wife and their son are in perfect health. Neither here nor there. But to some up this project. We have never been contacted stating there was a problem. We where never asked about anything about puddling. We don't even know that work was actually performed after we left. They have a neighbor that I a "licensed plumber" that is good friends with them. Also at the end of the project. We got shorted **** dollars which was the extra charge for framing the walls and platform. And never heard from them again. All emotion to the side. I think this is just another way for them to come up on money like they did with the loan. And if you ask them and they tell the truth. They'll tell you that this same situations have happened with two other contractors that we know of because they told us. We will no be refunding and financing any work work done after we left. And this is because we stated that they should have got a plumber. And they denied because of lack of funds. This is our statement. Thanks.

      Complaint: 16445253

I am rejecting this response because:

First, I want to reiterate that I had work done on 2 bathrooms, Mr. ******* statement merges work of both. Also, the only plumbing issues I relayed to him were about the hall bath toilet rocking and the master bath because I had a shower added which shortly after caused mold, which is why I concluded the plumbing was incorrect, never did I have a plumber tell me my house needed to be repiped or that the plumbing is messed up throughout the house. In response, stating that he told me that I needed to hire a licensed plumber to come and get my drains and water lines sorted was never said. If this was the case I would have coordinated to have one come while the pipes were exposed after his demolition. I did not do this because when I hired him, I asked if he is able to do the plumbing, his website reflects him doing plumbing and because he knew about previous plumbing problems that he states we told him about (when he came to give us a quote). To this, he as a contractor should have relayed that I would need to get a plumber to check the plumbing to which I did not hire a licensed plumber because he relayed being able to do all the plumbing, further, he did not have any issues completing the plumbing to get paid, so if he was unlicensed (which I do not know if he is) he should not have done the plumbing at all. When he stated that I hired my neighbor who is a licensed plumber is false, I did not and as **************** stated himself that I did not due to lack of funds. I did ask my neighbor if he had time to look at the work (master bath).  My neighbor said the work **************** did is temporary, he did not say it was sufficient and when I asked **************** if I could hire someone to do the plumbing he got upset and said, I told you I do this all the time and have had no complaints and if you want to do that then I will have to stop what Im doing and I dont know when I will be able to come back. Again, if he knew that I had plumbing issues, should he not have accounted for this in his time frame. The (hall bath) toilet rocking yes was an issue prior to Mr. ******* work and I did ask if he would be able to correct it, to which he stated yes.My failure to relay (here) that it had been worked on before has no relevance except that it proves that he knew what issues I had that he relayed he could correct. He stated that the only thing he did not finish in the master bathroom is a piece of trim, to this in my initial submission I attached pictures of his Instagram posts that do not reflect a completed bathroom and my pictures reflecting an unfinished master bathroom. I have also included a statement from ************** who did the work (after ****************) to make it a functioning bathroom. They did not run the shower for 30 mins as he stated, because he told us not to use it as it needed time to dry. It wasnt until about 2 weeks later when we started using the shower is when we noticed the puddling and my initial submission reflects the text conversation about his knowledge and his response of placing a shower mat on it to fix it. For the hall bath, his statement for why he charged extra is replacing a whole wall of studs and plates, which did not take place and is not on his invoice, what he did add to increase his price was due to adding tile, wallboard and grout install for $3,850 which was already in his original quote. As for the plumbing, it was the same issue with the master bath and my neighbor was out of town so he could not come, **************** said he knew what he was doing, never did we say just make it work as we know this could cause problems in the future. This was why we hired **************** because he described himself to have integrity to correct the difficulty we had in the past. Yes, the hall bathtub to walk in shower was my idea but not with a 10 inch step up, again this proves he did not know how to install a walk-in shower or the plumbing for it (I learned this from the licensed plumber hired recently). His statement about a phony excuse is incorrect, my ***** was for a specific amount and for only one shower because I am a disabled vet. For **************** to make accusations that I and my family are in perfect health is incorrect as he is not my doctor, nor did he medically assess me to give me a clean **** of health. The payment for the master bath was all out of my pocket and not at all done with my ***** ********* I did not contact him after his work because his demeanor and attitude would come out during the job and definitely changed once I told him that I would not pay him in full due to not completing the bathroom; he began to raise his voice and utilize profanity, so I did not want to conduct business with him further. I have also added an invoice from **** electric company reflecting the work completed that **************** did not. This further proves that if he told me to utilize a licensed plumber that I would have, as I hired a licensed electrician to install my light. His statement about lack of funds is also an accusation as he did not know my financial situation and as he stated I gave him a thousand dollar tip. Overall, this has nothing to do with emotion as he stated, in response, this does have everything to do with his integrity and workmanship that he spoke himself up to be as he knew of our previous mishaps with other contractors. I want to ensure this does not happen to others, and am asking for half of my payment to him for what he did not complete (but got paid for), for paying another contractor to finish what he did not (but goy paid), and the further work I had to get done due to his uncodable/incorrect work. I have attached items for further proof and did not add specific items (***** ***** due to not being able to add personal identifiable information. If you have questions, please contact me. Thank You.
