We are trying to sell our home and both of us are in our late 80's. We had several buyers who contacted us by mail and phone. Good Buy Homes was one of those and they called on 7/18/22 and asked us to let them come out on 7/21/22. In the meantime another buyer made us an offer of $342k and sent us a contract electronically. ****** ******* with Good Buy Homes called us on 7/20/22 at approximately 10am and we explained that an offer had been made but the contract had not been signed yet. ****** then asked to come out as he believed he could make a better offer. We felt that we owed it to ourselves to get the best offer possible, so we agreed to let him come out. He made us an offer of $350k to close in 2 weeks and 45 days to vacate. We signed a written contract with the condition of a printed contract to be sent electronically the next day along with the names of who would be doing the paperwork. We then cancelled the original contract offer we had received. We believed the offer and contract were legitimate and binding. We hadn't heard back or received the electronic contract by 7/22/22, so I called ****** and he said he had to check with his boss & would call us back. 3 hours later he called to tell us the offer had not been accepted by his company. We asked for a signed Termination of Contract Letter from Good Buy Homes as protection. We went with another buyer who made an offer. We ended up with a considerable loss on the difference of offers due to ****** ******* and Good Buy Homes actions. To date we have not received the signed Termination Contract Letter requested. That is the resolution we seek from them.
