We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to the customer.
We keep our Refund Policy very clear to issue refunds within the 15 days of Service Provided.
In this case, the customer had already disputed the transaction and as you know we cannot issue a refund on a disputed transaction. So, had to wait for the bank to settle the transaction in order to issue the refund.
We have refunded the customer as per the request now .
Just for the info, our customers are only charged after completion of the said job, we verify each and every step of the work done with the customer and once everything is verified then any payment is charged.
There was some miscommunication that led to this quarrel and we ensure we did not have any wrong intentions. There was some miscommunication that led to this quarrel and we ensure we did not have any wrong intentions.Initial Complaint

I was trying to install Webroot software on March 6, 2024 that I had purchased from Best Buy. I was attempting to contact Webroot support, and I called a number that connected me with Crown Technologies. The representative from Crown Technologies told me they could fix my computer and solve all my problems. It turned out this was a scam, and they charged me $899.99 to get control of my computer without providing any service. I called them multiple times on 3/7/2024 and 3/8/2024 to cancel the service, and they said they would refund my money. The contract I signed gave me 15 days to receive a refund. The refund never came. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, but it was declined because Crown Technologies claimed I had received the service or goods. Crown Technologies does not provide any service whatsoever. I am filing a complaint with the ** in hopes of receiving a refund from this scam company. To the Better Business Bureau, your A- rating for Crown Technologies is an embarrassment to your website and your mission. You are giving an A- rating to a company of scammers.Business response

On the night of 3/10/24 I was working to contact Webroot Secure Anywhere online to transfer my coverage from an old to new computer. I received a call from what was supposed to be Webroot and after linking to my computer, was told I had many viruses and malware. They offered to clean it up for me (which they supposedly did - but now I am not sure). At the time I did not realize I was working with a company totally unrelated with Webroot. The person offered me a three year Webroot security plan which would add a firewall. I electronically signed the contract and received a receipt from Crown Technolgies. I did not question this last night since it was late, thinking Webroot was a subsidiary. This morning I checked and found no change in my Webroot certification. I called Webroot Support and found they ARE NOT part of Crown Technologies.TO ME LAST NIGHT WAS A SCAM.I have contacted Crowned Technologies to cancel my subscription and credit my credit card for $799.99 immediately, just before filling out this complaint.Business response

Crown Tech had not contacted me as of 3-15-24 so I called them to find out the disposition of this issue. They told me that $599.99 was refunded on 3-12-24 (which I verified) and said $190 was billed for online services rendered. They also said I had a one year complimentary contract. While not fully satisfied with the arrangement, at least 75% of my payment was refunded. I am still wary of this company in that I had to contact them about follow up, instead of them displaying professional courtesy and contacting me when they made the adjustment.Customer response

On 12/13/23, Crown Technologies LLC represented themselves to me as being Webroot Secure Anywhere, and after linking into my computer, told me that my network was contaminated with all kinds of malware, spyware, viruses, etc., and they offered to clean it up for me (which they supposedly did...but really didn't). At the time, I didn't know that this was a deception. They also offered me a 5 year Webroot security plan which they told me would provide for additional firewall security, which was also untrue, since Webroot only offers 1 and 3 year security plans, and their software has ample firewall security already built in. Unfortunately, I signed a bogus contract that would supposedly allow me to cancel within 15 days to receive a full refund, if I was unhappy with their services. I did request cancellation and refund in writing the very next day, after I had contacted Webroot (through their official site) and discovered that I'd been taken. Unfortunately, as I suspected, I never heard from them again. Fortunately for me, I didn't have any personal info on this computer, so all they got is a one time payment from me. Crown Technologies LLC is deceptive, underhanded, and obviously very desperate to make money through deception. Despite what they led me to believe, this company is no way connected to Webroot, Best Buy, or The Geek SquadBusiness response
