The *** plan is a joke. The *** you have to assign to yourself for general care cannot be found. Their database does not actually cover who is available. When I first signed up, they defaulted me to a *** almost 200 miles away. I changed it to one in a reasonable distance, only to go to the site to find out that the provider selected doesn't work there anymore, and of course the provider's number on BCBS website is not being answered. There was another provider on site, but their NPI/credentialing is not up to date in BCBS database, so I cannot get insurance to cover it. I've been paying BCBS for literally nothing but a headache. If I could give less than one star in this review, I would.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

Coverage is terrible for the cost of premiums for me, my wife, and child. You can't afford to get sick with BCBSTX. Pay over $11K a year for insurance pay $5k out of pocket just to seek help to get healthy. Then when more and more bills roll in afterwards all it causes is stress leading to stroke. If you can steer clear of them, they're ZERO help ever!!!!Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

My claims are denied consistently because BCBS of ** thinks that I have other insurance through Humana. My policy from Humana has not been active since 2019. I have sent letters from Humana stating my policy has not been active since 12/31/2019. I was assured after the last of many times I have contacted BCBS that this has been corrected. Now once again, they are denying my claims. I have spent literally hours on the phone with these people. I am not at **** end as to what to do.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

Blue cross blue shield of texas is the worst insurance company out there. I was diagnosed with being a diabetic and they refused to cover my medication. What is insurance good for if it doesn't cover anything. This should be a criminal act. I will be going to the news station as well. I have been on the phone from 11:09 to 2:19 with Blue Cross of ** trying to get an answer to a simple question. I have been cut off 3 times, transferred 9 times! ************** was very rude. I was trying to inquire about a group policy and none of those customer ********************** reps could answer and or find someone with an answer. I started with Blue Cross of **, somehow was transferred to ******** (twice), back to ** to 3 more reps. ** this how they take care of our medical needs as well?Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

BCBSTX do not take care of their people. I purchased health insurance and dental insurance through the marketplace in December. The health insurance company, and Blue Cross Blue Shield both drafted my account in December for the following month. It is now April and I realized that only the health insurance company was continuing to draft from my account, but Blue ********************** Blue Shield had failed to continue. When I called them, I found out that they canceled my policy, without ever calling me, writing me to my home, and they sent two emails that hit my spam folder that told me to update my payment information. I understand that things happen, but now they are unwilling to bend slightly to allow me to pay ******* February and March premiums to get me in my policy reestablished. They do not care in anyway about the people that they work with. Whats so crazy is my dental insurance is only $38 a month. My health insurance through ***** is $329 , they dont have a problem billing me each month though. I had only ever heard good things about Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, but they really let me down, and they never gave me an explanation as to why they stopped drafting from my account. Now Im in a special enrollment. Through marketplace and Im nine months away from being able To reapply. Thanks a lot Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. It took BCBS 3 months to process my request for authorization of a prescription that they rejected. Now they are saying they will only consider one month in the past, so I am stuck paying for the first two months without any reimbursement/discount from them. If I could give zero stars I would. My daughter's much needed healthcare was cut short and canceled because BCBS decided "it's not necessary". This was in spite of several professionals agreeing she was getting exactly what she needed. WTH????We were told "a lower level of care would be more appropriate". We have already tried the "lower level" they are referring to twice and it failed both times. BCBS couldn't care less and my daughter continues to suffer as a result. I have paid insurance premiums my entire adult life and rarely if ever actually filed any type of claim. Now that I finally need something for my child, this is what happens. I wouldn't recommend BCBS to anyone.Review from Marco M

Had to switch this year to BCBS to keep our doctor. Thought it was a good switch. Wrong. Daughters birth control which is for her mild acne and internal issues, went from $0 to $60 per month. Im a new widow just trying to survive. This is ridiculous!!!Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response
