I hired HR Phoenix to come to my house to troubleshoot flickering lights. On the phone I was quoted $279 for the first hour and then $120/hr after that. The technician and assistant showed up on time but smelling strongly like cigarettes and bad body odor. They walked in my house with dirty boots and when they would leave a room it would continue to smell like BO. They first began looking at my electric panel and double checked that everything was tight and then moved to the rooms with the flickering lights. I told them the troubleshooting that I had done and how I came to the conclusions that I did. They rightfully wanted to double check what I had done and after 10 minutes could see that the light switch was not the problem. They then for the next hour and 45 minutes kept saying that it couldn't be anything other than that light switch and tested it several different ways getting the same results every time. They even completely bypassed the light switch 30 minutes in and when it continued to flicker they said that something with the light switch still had to be the problem. They checked above the ceiling fans and claimed that the problem was coming from the remote sensor and took it out and said the problem was fixed. As soon as they left I noticed the lights were still flickering. They then told me that because there were two people that it would be double the cost. I attempted to call the supervisor but he would not answer the phone. I eventually got a hold of the office but they wouldn't let me talk to the supervisor and said that all they could do was reduce it back to the quoted rate. I had to pay for 2 hrs of troubleshooting the same item after they had themselves proved it was not the issue, and then their "fix" did not actually fix the issue. I should not have to pay for the entire visit when I now have to go and sanitize/clean every room they were in and also hire another electrician to fix the issue.Business response

Our company had already adjusted the rate from the two-man rate back to the one-man rate within minutes of the customer complaining about it, after realizing we had made a technical error. We did not charge for all of the time we were there. When we had fixed the problem, we actually waited around to make sure the problem did not come back to show itself. Once we completed the job and showed that the problem with with the flickering had been fixed, we were paid by the customer. In this case, no other adjustment is reasonable. In regards to the comments about our electricians arriving with cigarette smell, body odor and dirty boots, these are untrue and false statements.

Service 2/22/23 I requested quote & appointment on ****. I called to confirm quote inspection. When person showed up I asked for prices. He did not let me know he was not the quote person. He said he could not do the job I wanted, he offered to get an outlet installed. He said $120/hr when I insisted to know price. I was surprised to find out he could do the job there but I thought he will take no less than 1 hour. Im an engineer and know it can be installed in 20 minutes. He worked less than 1 hour on the outlet. Made phone calls and came in and out because of being unprepared showing up without tools. He spent a total of 2 hours in my place. The hour he worked included the trip to *********** 6min away. When done he charged me $467 for 1 outlet despite being told that was not what he said. Material cost $30.49, receipt left behind. He did not bring stud finder and left a huge hole in my wall by running into it. He asked for a ladder despite seeing my place empty but had one in his car. My condo was left worse than I started. When leaving I kept demanding quote for the work I initially wanted. Only then said we actually have a different person that does the quotes. They should have informed me on the phone service day when I called to confirm quote appointment that the right person was not available.Any employee represents company and there is no excuse to change prices even if that is the actual price they would charge .Its deceitful not to inform me they are not the quote person and pretending they know what theyre there for. I asked for an itemized receipt and didnt get any.Their website advertises free quotes and fair prices. I attempted to get my money back minus materials by asking owner. Instead he said that they charge $256 for the first hour and $120 after that as if it was my fault for not knowing and as if I had to pay whatever. Abusive to not admit employee represents his company and blame the customer thats been deceived.Business response

We are sorry that you feel like you did not have a good experience. We do try to be upfront about our pricing and certainly don't try to mislead anyone. We were called out to install the outlet and we did. Sometimes when doing electrical work, there may be drywall repair needed that would be handled by a drywall contractor at the customers own expense. We will send you a refund of 50% of the invoice. Thank youCustomer response
