Century Automotive has been deceptive in dealing with me and fixing my automotive problems. The did not conduct themselves as professionals, and caused damage to my vehicle by their negligence. I brought my vehicle in for overheating and without testing it they installed a new radiator fan kit. The business owner and his representatives stated that I the customer requested the fan be replaced and that is why they did it. I never requested the fan be replaced and my car continued to ok overheat. Initially I took the SUV in and stated that it is overheating and I need it looked at. I wrote on the intake paperwork the reason I brought the vehicle in and possible causes. Both fans were working in my vehicle when I took it in. I observed them running to cool the motor the day before and morning of that I took my suv into Century automotive. Replaciing the fan kit did not correct the problem with overheating and cost me over $700.00 dollars. I took the vehicle back. They then ran a pressure test for over an hour, and stated no problems. No diagnostic testing was performed. The next morning the car was leaking radiator fluid everywhere. Century Automotive never performed the testing needed to find out the cause of my car overheating and sold me a product that I did not need. They lied to cover up the fact that a fan was replaced for no reason, and also caused damage to the parts of my SUV that hold the grill and other structures near the radiator. I tried to talk with the company to resolve the problem they delayed for days and days, then finally just denied their fault and inconsistencies. I still had to spend hundreds to replace my radiator due to their mistakes and damage caused by wrongdoing in pressure testing. I will still have to fix the broken pieces that hold my front grill/end of the suv.

On 8-26-22 vehicle was brought in for overheating.  Technician performed diagnostics and found no coolant leaks but observed one of the cooling fans was would not operate.  Once fan was confirmed faulty the customer was contacted with our findings and estimate for fan replacement. Fan replacement was authorized by customer. Vehicle was repaired and returned to customer.  On or around 10-1-22 vehicle was brought back because customer said the vehicle was low on coolant. We performed multiple coolant system tests but no leaks where found at that time, returned vehicle to customer at no charge.  A few days later she brought the car back because it was leaking coolant on the ground. We performed a coolant system test and found the radiator was leaking.  Findings and estimate was presented to customer but she declined the repairs at that time because she needed the car and would come back later. We installed some "stop leak" tablets at no charge to slow the leak down and sent her on her way.  About a week later she reached out to me and basically accused us of selling her a cooling fan she did not need.  I thought all was all right after explaining again why she needed the fan, and it was unfortunate a radiator is needed now.  Also there was never any mention of any so-called damage to the grill or components.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

The manager was not made aware of the issue with my vehicle until a few weeks after my car was worked on and was not directly  involved. The car was brought in on 8/26, 9/1, and 9/8 for overheating. I called on 8/30, but they were full at the time. Each time the business's employees gave different versions of the work performed. I was told that the car was never pressure tested, and diagnostic  testing was not done. I had to discuss with the front desk several times as to what my vehicle's problem was because she was confused about what was going on. After I made several calls to voice complaints, I was put off and a week later the stories changed and the owner had new facts. This business is unethical and falsified the work the are now claiming to have done. See attached receipt which shows no diagnostic or testing.  C. ******

      Regards,

I stand by the facts I previously submitted. Mrs. ****** was not charged for a coolant system check. That is why it is not on the invoice. Nor was she charged for the tested the other times as well.  I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  The proper testing was not done and the business owner or his employees damaged my vehicle when either removing the front bumper or while replacing it.  They failed to use proper techniques in removing the attaching clips and either lost or broke them and used zip ties to hold part of my front bumper back to my vehicle.

This was very unprofessional and is costly to now go back and fix. Any competent automotive company would have replaced the broken or missing parts and secured my bumper back properly.  See attached. .  I was not billed because the service was not performed.  Which cost me time off work to return twice more for the same problem and caused my vehicle to continue to overheat which may have caused additional damage.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

      Regards,

It was not necessary for us to remove the bumper to service the failed cooling fan. The alleged zip ties/missing hardware from a previous repair.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  I am not satisfied with the fact that they offer no  resolution. The parts that were broken/missing are exactly where they worked on the vehicle and where they attached the fan to the vehicle.  See attached.
