August 2, 2022 my pet was boarded at this facility for a 4 night stay. I was advised not to bring anything other than the food. I called approx 4 times the first day to check on my pets. Every time I was advised everything was fine and eating well. The next morning I called to check again and was advised everything was fine. A few hours after I receive a call from the pet resort advising me that my dog wasnt eating, was gorging on water and was throwing up. I received a series of calls such as this over the next few days. Upon picking up my dog on the scheduled day, he was not the same dog I had dropped off. He appeared weak and frail. I took him to the vet for evaluation on 8/8/22. Various testing was preformed and he was admitted and placed on iv fluids immediately. He stayed for several nights and was released. The next day I took him back as the vomiting continued. Emergency surgery was performed. A toy was removed from his upper GI. However, this toy was not recognized as anything belonging in my home. I contacted the facility via email to advise of this. I was told by the owner, ***** that she would refer to her logs that they keep in which they make note of toys brought in by pet owners. Didnt make sense as I was told not to bring anything for our stay. She asked that I bring the toy in so she could look at it. I made an appointment with her to do so. Upon arriving at this appt she asked to see the toy and I asked to see the log reef toy info. I was denied this request approx 4 times and told that it contained personal info. I suggested she redact said info. Again was denied. She further stated that the alleged logs indicate that toys brought in were colorful and that was removed from my dog was brown. I further stated that it had been in his body over a week by this point and may have changed color. she refused. She denied the toy came from her place but refused to prove it and refused to allow me to see the camera footage. She denied vet reimbursement
