On 9/30/24 ***** replaced a water heater at my residence, I trusted ***** as he is a fishing ***** of my neighbor friend, Never talked price because thought the friend of a friend connection would be enough and I would be treated fairly. He poo-pooed any thing from ****** as being inferior and insisted that he go to ************** to his supplier for one. Never said anything about price of heater or delivery costs. From my house to downtown CC it's 30 minutes, to the far south side it's 45. So 45 minutes into- 30 minutes to load- 45 minutes back - two hours. Comes back with a cheap water heater that maybe cost him $700 (same make and model on internet delivered to door $899) Installation is an easy one, in garage that they drove right up to, s**** on flexable hoses both old and new , chimney pipe already there. This is plumbing 101 at it's best. Put in new ****** pipe for pressure release. Took an hour (good plumber could do it in 30 - 40 minutes if he wanted to), Again nothing had been said about a price ( trusted him -my mistake ) up to the time he was done. Then ***** hits me with a $2,200 asking bill. My response was "you are kidding" thinking he was joking with me. No he was not, did lower it to $2100. He is then sticking a bill in front of me to sign and pay. Went on the Yelp site and looked him up. He takes advantage of old people that have money ( I'm 78 ) It's one thing to be expensive and another to rip people off and take advantage of them when they are having problems which appears to be his style. He touts he gives a 10 year warranty, well he is 70 and I am 78 so how good does that really sound ?I asked him for an adjustment he has said no the price was right. Three hours (most of two hours sitting on his **** in his truck) cost from what I figure $1.400 or $465. per hour. This is just not right. Sounds and looks like I'm not the first to be had by *****. Hoping you can expose him if nothing else.
