We contracted for a shower repair with *************************** on 2/21/24 to include replacing the shower pan, re-doing tile and glass, and repairing drywall holes that were incurred when investigating the leak. Total amount was to be $7,200 with an upfront deposit of $3,600 we paid upon signing.***** indicated the materials could take 4-6 weeks to come in and once arrived, they would start and complete the project within two weeks. At the 7 week point from signing the contract we reached out and ***** said they had received materials a week prior but was working on getting a crew lined up. After another couple weeks we inquired what the status was and he informed us they are primarily a San *************** and the one individual (****) he wanted working on the project was there so we would need to coordinate with him to schedule a time to come up. Graz was unresponsive after an initial text so we insisted ***** help facilitate the project. On 4/29 I contacted ***** and expressed my concern on the delay telling him to just be up front if it would take several weeks then that's fine at least tell us something. He indicated the company had undergone unanticipated turnover and Graz was the only person left to do the job, but he would get back with me on a start date. I tried him again on 5/10/24 and 5/13/24 with no response. On 5/14 he called my wife to say that they were going out of business and would send us a refund check in the mail and deliver the shower pan they had ordered to us. We still have not received the check as of today, 5/28, and ***** has not replied to any messages or calls.Business response

The refund to this customer has been sent and cashed by homeowner. The business is NOT going out of business, so there seems to be a miscommunication from a staff member.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.The owner told my wife over the phone they were going out of business so they can take that up with him. They did mail us the refund check which cleared so we're all good.
