The service date was 4-7-24. Due to bats entering my chimney during migration season I hired The Texan Chimney for $800 to "bat proof" two chimneys before the bats arrived this year. They were to wrap mesh screen around the chimney caps and place a sealant in gaps along the chimney chases where the chase meets the stone. When the technician arrived he began pressuring me to replace both the caps and chases for $3800. He told me the since the chases are flat they will pool rainwater and leak. I told him in ***************************************************************************************** He agreed to do the work but he did not have a ladder tall enough to reach the chimney on the east side of roof. So he got on top of the chimney and leaned over the edge to try and point the caulk gun upward to the gaps where the chase meets the stone. He made a mess and ran out of sealant fast. He went to ********** and came back with more sealant and latex gloves. He did same thing as before but this time used his hand with glove to smooth it into the gaps. I had to give verbal instructions where to move his hands since he couldn't see gaps looking from above. It looked from where I stood below that it filled in the gaps. On 4-19-24 I saw bats entering the gaps. The sealant was eroded. I took a picture. I called and talked to *******. Emailed her the picture. I asked them to come back in the fall after the bats migration season ends to reseal the gaps with better material. She said she'd ask the owner and call me back but she never did. I called her the next day and she told me the owner would not agree to wait until the fall. I told her if they reseal it now it will trap the bats inside because they return early morning before daylight. I told her it's against the law to kill bats. After several phone calls pleading with her she blocked my cell number. I called from my home number and she answered. Said she'd call me back. She never did and now has blocked my home number.
