  We had hired ***** to build a pergola in back of our home that we paid $10,355.00 for after 6 mths of having this installed it has been leaking and is getting mildew. He provided a warranty for this that he fails to honor it has almost been a year since we have contacted him regarding this over and over sending pictures and videos. he came by twice to do patch work and still has not fixed the real issue causing the leak is that our pergola was not built with a pitch. We have had 2 roofers some check his work and both said it needs to be fixed we have water that just sits on the roof since its flat it has no where to go. We since contacted our insurance company to come check our roof and they are also saying the same the roof needs to be fixed. When we confronted ***** with this information he keeps saying it's the roof on our home. This is poor workmanship on his part but will not fix it the proper way. He also messed up the concrete slab it was poured wrong he did patch work to fix that and water just sat there every time it rained. We hired another contractor to fix it and paid ******* more out of our pocket. His business needs to be closed and people need to know the work they are paying for is very poor!! I will be taking him to small claims court to be reimbursement for all our additional expenses.

  When I first received notice of this complaint I was unaware who ******* was. I didnt have a client in my invoice history by that name. I further looked into the physical address provided by complainant and came up with a previous client by the name of *********************** with that address. ******* is Donnies girlfriend. 
       When I presented ************* with a proposal to add a attached covered patio to his home I mentioned we would tie into his existing roof by resting new rafters on top of his existing roof. ************** did not want to place the rafters on top of existing home roof due to this possibly voiding his home warranty. I proposed an alternate build by attaching a ledger board to his existing roof rafter tails and facia board which wouldnt void his warranty on home. I also mentioned by doing so the pitch of ***************** would not have the pitch needed . He agreed to go with the new build with a lower pitch to roof. I also explained to him I could not warranty the roof due to the pitch being reduced by the alternate proposal to add a lean to patio cover with a ledger board on the existing rafter tails of his home. The proposal was accepted (without warranty) and the build was done. After well over a year of the build ************* notified me the roof was leaking. I went to inspect and had my worker add some more roof flashing silicone . I have given ************** options to fix the issue and advised there would be an additional charge since we would have to disassemble roof and place rafters on top of existing roof as I first recommended. His girlfriend (*******) was never present when *********************** and I spoke several times including the initial visit to begin construction. ******* told me over the phone that she was going to make sure no one would use my services and my business shut down. Once again, ******* was never present when ************* and I spoke about project. I do have the telephone conversation with ************* where he does state and recalls me stating that the build was not going to be warranties due to him wanting a different pitch (build) on roof than I proposed. ************* has told me he does recall the many conversations I had with him prior to beginning the build about the insufficient pitch since he didnt want to void his home warranty and attach new roof with his existing home roof. With that being said, there is no warranty given by me (ZKO Construction) because of what I have stated above .
