On May 15/16, 2022, I requested onsite consultation services from A-1 regarding a framing remodel I was beginning on my property. I had used the same services from A-1 before. I specifically requested no calculations or written report and prepaid the proforma invoice of $425 for onsite consulting only. On May 20, the A-1 Engineer, after coming on site, declined the engagement (22-8104) and to date I have not received a credit to my $425 prepayment after numerous emails and follow up attempts with A-1. On June 7, I received an email from A-1 saying I would get the credit by end of week. As of June 14 and more emails, nothing. I attached some but not all of the correspondence on this trying to get credited. A-1 Engineering, LLC ****** ***** ***** ***** ********* **** ***** ******* *** *** ******** ** ***** ************ See certified letter I sent June 11 attached to the Owner Moises Cruz and Mayra Ramirez. I also found that the Texas SOS has revoked A-1s business charter see attached forfeiture November 2021.Business response

*** ***** requested our professional services regarding load bearing capacities. We explained to *** *****, as a Professional Engineering service our licensed engineers must make their own observations and take their own measurements and do their own calculations before consulting. *** ***** requested we look at his personal calculations and consult based solely on those. Our engineer explained to *** ***** he must use his own measurements and calculations to complete the job. *** ***** was under the impression we could consult based on his own personal calculations. We have never provided this service and attempted to set up a conference call with *** ****** and our Principal Engineer to give him a better understanding of the process. *** ****** refused the conference call. A full refund was issued to *** *****.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as they have now returned my repayment for services they do not provide. It is sad that it takes four weeks, six emails, a certified letter, and a BBB complaint to get a company to return a prepayment for a service they admittedly don't provide.
Hopefully in the future, they will read their web service requests from customers and not take and/or try to keep prepayments for services they do not provide.
Regards,
******** ***** ******
