Last year before Christmas I opened a layaway account on a Rolex watch after previously spending about $36,000 on other items. The owners of the establishment ****** and ******* Gurinskys advise me that there was no issue make payments as I would like it was a very happy moment because I had made a large amount of money on jewelry and things that we had purchased. Two different times I was called by employees of the business and advised it layaway payments have not been made but they indeed had been made and they located them they do not have an effective tracking system for payments and its a slip of paper in there safe or a slip of paper up by the front register. They dont seem to really have a set layaway program or something thats well laid out and they couldnt explain to me exactly how it worked other than either I forfeit all of my money if I dont want the layaway later or they could be so kind as to give me a store credit. But the item that they offered to sell me was 100% higher than the items listed price its regulated by Rolex *********** and Rolex ***. The predatory pricing is acceptable by most watch buyers because of accessibility. This really doesnt make it right it just makes it generally not complained about. The resolution that I would like to see is simply to have my layaway payments returned to me with a reasonable and acceptable legal fee of 10% of the payments. Or just return all of the payments. I didnt receive a copy of any layaway policy I simply gave them money and counted on them to keep their word as a business has been going since the 70s.
