Hello,My husband and I contracted Mr. ********************** to refurbish some cabinets, he had replaced the cabinets in our master bathroom so we were familiar with his work. On January 14, 2023 we met with Mr. ********************** to go over what we wanted him to do and we agreed on a price. He requested a deposit of 1000$ which we gave him that day (and he cashed that day). Mr. ********************** was supposed to pick up the cabinets that following weekend and he never showed up or called. We called him, he didn't answer so we starting texting - which he would respond at certain times. We continued this texting back and forth all the way to May 6, 2023. I sent him a text stating that we wanted our deposit of 1000$ back within 7 business days, we were no longer interested in working around his schedule. He responded that he was here in *********** and that he arrived last night. On May 15th in a text message he asked if he could return the 1000$ next week because he bought paint material. I replied yes and didn't hear from him until May 26th, he texted that he finished a project and that he'll be able to return our 1000$. Finally on June 15th he came to our home and left 300$, he said a client gave him a bad check and will be giving him another check tomorrow (Friday June 16th) and he'll return to pay us the 700$ after he cashed the check on Friday. That never happened and the text messages began again. On June 27th he brought another 300$ - which was not our agreement - it was suppose to be 700$. My parents were the ones who met him at our home and received the 300$, he then sent me a message saying he would be by that Sunday to pay the 400$. The last text message (July 15th) from Mr. ********************** he said he would be by on Monday at noon - he never showed up or responded to my last text message on July 19th. We have been so patient with Mr. ********************** and I just want to get my hard earned money back and move on. Please Help - I can send the text messages and a bank copy of our check for your review if needed.
