I locked the bottom lock of my front door when I left for vacation and the dog sitter who only has the code to the smart lock was not able to get into the home. I googled locksmith in my area and Key Kong Locksmith came up. I called panicked, they assured me not to worry, they'll have someone contact my dog ****** within 30 minutes and someone should be able to go out within that time frame as well. I felt so relieved, I went on my trip. I touched base with the dog sitter, she advised me that they charged $480.72! I was floored, I have used a locksmith in the past and it was $150 ($75 service call & $75 to open the door). I only didn't use that same company because I moved across town, and it was out of their service area. Key Kong Locksmith charged $89 Service Charge + $39 Office Fee + $299 House Lockout + 4% card fee ($18.49) + $35.23 Taxes = Totaling $480.72. I was not happy about that price; it seemed way overpriced, I was confused on the additional fees. I returned home from my trip to see what they had done. They damaged my door. There were wood chips, they replaced the latch with a color that did not match nor fit, the weather strip is damaged, the door is chipped, and the door frame dented. I immediately called Key Kong Locksmith to let them know what Ive been experiencing, and the representative said they would have a member of management call me back. I did not receive a response. I called again on Friday, July 12th, 2024, and was told there is no number to transfer me to for management, there is no email, and the only thing they can do is send an email to management for someone to call me back. This is the worst experience Ive ever had with a locksmith, Im in real estate so I have had quite a few jobs done. I would not recommend Key Kong Locksmith to anyone. They are way overpriced, they did so much damage, and didnt even have the decency to contact me back. That is not quality service work and this is not customer service or care.
