On 11/14/2022 the sales person Esteban and his manager Danny offered me a deal of purchasing a 2023 ***** at 54,999 plus tax title and license fees only. I made them aware I was selling my current vehicle in order to purchase the *****. Still on Tuesday 11/15/2022 they tell me the vehicle is available and when I was stopping by and I tell them around 4:25pm I am on my way and they tell me it’s still available. I get there and they try to upswell their protection plan on the deal. I refuse it and they come back with $500 off and I refuse it and they have me wait for like 25 minutes then I ask for the manager and he takes more time and then he comes and says they sold it minutes before we got there and there was nothing they could do. I explained we sold our current vehicle and they were made aware before which he responded that there was nothing they could but offer to sell us another vehicle which was nothing that we needed. We had to leave since they had no resolution and then try to blame it on us for not signing before.Business response

The customer initiated a deal on Saturday 11/12/22, however he did not agree to the figures. At that time, we stressed the importance of limited availability of vehicles and that we could not hold any vehicle for any customer. The customer visited the dealership on Monday November the 14th, and was not satisfied with the interest rate figures and with our trade evaluation. The customer left the store and decided to shop other dealerships. Once again, we stressed the importance of limited availability and high demand and we could not hold the unit. The customer did not purchase the vehicle on Monday. On Tuesday the 15th, the customer spoke with our sales consultant, however by the time customer arrived the unit was sold to another customer.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
I do not know who Samuel ******* is or remember speaking to him at this dealership. Also at no moment was anything “stressed” to me.
I do have however the text messages from your sales representative telling me the vehicle is available at the time of arrival. I was the only customer there and they were still negotiating the price with me, until I said I wouldn’t pay their protection plan they said oh we just sold it and took the vehicle away leaving my wife without a vehicle and just saying sorry nothing they could do.

I am the General Manager here at Gillman Chevrolet Buick GMC. The first correspondence with Mr. ******* was on Saturday via phone and text. I have reviewed the text messages and can confirm the unit was available when the text messages were communicated. The figures were not agreeable to you when you 1st visited the store on Monday stating you were going to go "Shop around and go to Payne”. Tuesday you were contacted by our sales consultant Esteban Ramirez at approximately 10:51 am and were asked if he you had "made a deal on a *****? You responded, "Still waiting on buying one" You texted my salesperson at 10:52 am, telling him you were going to sell your trade to CarMax. At 11:19 Esteban sent you a text telling you "Okay not a problem, the ***** is still available" You texted my sales consultant Esteban at 4:25 pm asking if the vehicle was still available, and we told you it was. You arrived at the dealership at approximately 5:00 pm and the ***** was still in the showroom. The figures on payment were still not agreed upon after more than an hour. Maurilio, the New Car Sales Manager, spoke to you personally when you were told the ***** had already been sold during the interim to another customer and we offered you an alternative unit which you declined. Unfortunately, these units are in high demand, and we have a very limited quantity. It is Gillman Policy that we do not hold vehicles for any customer. Unfortunately, there are always multiple customers looking at these limited vehicles at the same time. The other customers made a decision quickly and purchased the vehicle.

I went to dealership and was looking for a truck and came across a GMC Sierra 1500 elevation 3.0 duramax and the sales rep had mentioned it had just arrived and it was still in transportation mode and we couldn’t test drive. But I looked at it and fell in love with it. He also mentioned to me that a coworker of his was looking to buy it as well but he was asking for the employee discount and manager was not willing to do so. So eventually we sat down and looked at numbers and at first he was reasonable and brought me a $4000 $6000 $8000 down payment plan mind I remind u he had not even checked my credit score or anything it was just a rough estimate as per him. Then I left and he called me back that he would work it out and help me out in taking it. Then he spoke with my boyfriend and convinced him to go back. So we went back and it would be closed at the time but he agreed to wait for us. We finally arrive and he tells us that he would want us to come back in the am Monday morning. So we agreed. Then Monday comes around and we tell him we wanted to trade in another vehicle we had and he took it to get it valued and never ever came back with a evaluation for a Tahoe we wanted to trade in. He just said he was waiting for the evaluation paper. So In the process of waiting for that He takes back into his office and he bring a paper with another offer and says my manger gave me this and the paper had a payment plan of 64 72 and 84 months with a down payment of 15000 20000 and 25000. In other words he was just going to an extreme down payment so we wouldn’t get it and make it easier for his con worker to get it. I just decided to get out of the dealership crying because he basically didn’t want to sell it to me and had me all day there wasting my time. He had not even checked my credit score at all. And when we call back to ask about the evaluation they had made to my Tahoe he just plain told us that the truck was sold already to his coworker and hung up on us.Business response

I reached out to the customer and set up an appointment to discuss options with her and she did not show up for the appointment. I also called again and she did not return my call.
