Got the vehicle 2 weeks ago, 3 days after having the vehicle it started to overheat. You can smell the radiator fluid burning. The driver side back door ***** gets stuck and the door doesn't want to open at times. The passenger door doesn't unlock by the key faab, have to open that door from the inside. The horn doesn't work at least 90% of the time. I can get it to work here and there. All the tires are old and dry rotting. When taking the vehicle back up there I'm told I need to leave it a few days to diagnose. I'm not sure how they expect you to get to work to continue to make a paycheck all while giving up the car. No option for a loaner vehicle while they service mine. How could you sell me a lemon like this??? I put 1200 down and gotta pay 600 a month on this c*** Not good business.Review from Raven W

Dont ever buy a car from Texas auto they need to be shut down! They have put me in 4 different vehicles and the 4th one is now running hot ! I have lost my job because of transportation each car had motor and engine issues and even one of them caught on fire even after they had fixed it and had it in their shop for a week. **** , *************** are very rude and they never answer the phone to speak to anybody about anything . They wanna take your money but dont want to help you when they sale you a bad car. Every car that I have got from them either need a oil change , brakes and rotors or it runs hot they have a million cars in the back and they dont give out loaners until they are done with your car. Everybody up there is rude and they honestly need to be shut down ! They dont check the cars before they put them on the lot they just slap a number on there and youll eventually have a problem a week or 2 later . It doesnt matter how much you put down all of those cars are trash ! I hope they shut them down ASAP ! DONT EVER BUY A CAR FROM TEXAS AUTO YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTEDTexas Auto Center Response

We value **************** as our customer and apologize for her experience. We take her mechanical and customer service concerns very seriously and offer her the following response.
Unfortunately, **************** experienced mechanical issues with her first three vehicles early on. We addressed her concerns expeditiously and offered Settlement Agreements for the first two vehicles, but she declined and asked to trade out. Mechanical diagnostics were completed on all before purchase, and each passed state inspection. A head gasket failed on the first and resulted in engine replacement. The second experienced transmission failure and the radiator failed in the third, which resulted in engine failure. The fire **************** reported was caused by a small animal or trash debris that touched the catalytic converter. She did not mention concerns with the brakes on her first two vehicles. Brake pads and rotors were warrantied as a courtesy on her third vehicle, at no cost to ****************.
Her current vehicle was towed to us on March 14th due to mechanical failure. She said it overheated and the brakes were squeaking. Over ****** miles were added to the odometer since she bought it on November 27th, 2023. Based on the mileage, the car would have required manufacturer-recommended maintenance such as oil changes and other periodic services. We do know if maintenance was performed elsewhere but we have no record of servicing her car until it was towed in. Routine maintenance is vital and can prevent things like overheating and towing. We completed a diagnostic, replaced the radiator and upper radiator hose, performed a full-service oil change, and evacuated and recharged the cooling system. We could not duplicate the noise with the brakes but recommended the replacement of the brake rotors and ceramic pads, however, **************** declined the brake service. Our 24-month/24,000-mile Limited Warranty covered most of the repairs at $1,154, we covered part of the tow fees and broke Ms. ******* deductible and the remaining tow balance into interest-free payments.
We have done our best to work with **************** and granted her requests to trade out. All payments made on the first three vehicles were transferred, in full, to her active account. We are sorry she feels disappointed and are committed to working with her moving forward.Review from Fana K

Thank you for providing us with your feedback, ******************. We value you as our customer and want to work with you but we are confused about what you mean by closing your account and opening up a new one on the same vehicle. Your account is eligible for a payment due date change if you are interested. It looks like we granted your request for one back in April but it was not completed because we did not have a signed Amendment. This change requires you to sign an Amendment to your Retail Installment Contract. Please reach out to ********************* at TAC Acceptance at ************. He will be happy to explain the Amendment process and help facilitate it if you opt to do so.Review from Christopher R

After speaking with *******, I decided not to purchase a vehicle with this company. I asked if he would shred my application because I was uncomfortable with him having access to my personal info. ******* refused my request. He told me that my information was now theirs and that he could not shred my information. This gentleman was so unprofessional that I literally asked to speak with the manager, not knowing that he was the manager. I was very surprised when he told me that he was the manager. I asked if he could show me on the short application that I had filled out, where it stated that he couldn't shred my info. He got very loud when speaking to me and was very dismissive. I asked ******* not to run my credit because I would not be purchasing with a company that treats others with such disrespect. He told me once again that my information is theirs. I called the police because of his behavior. ******* with a coworker, walked into the office made copies of the copies of my information and gave it to me, while still refusing to shred it. I had to ask this gentleman to calm down several times because he was making my ten year old daughter very nervous. I've never been so embarrassed in a place of business. It was so unnecessary and uncalled for.Review from Rakel F

I had a car financed with texas auto center. had it for almost 1 year and the transmission started messing up and the check engine light turned on after 3 months of getting the car. I tried to contact texas auto center and they told me I needed to contact a whole different department. I tried that and left a voicemail nobody ever called me back. I wanted to at least get a different vehicle entirely or a temporary vehicle until they are able to fix whats wrong but they refused both suggestions and left me with no options but to continue to drive a faulty car with a expensive monthly payment this is my only transportation as a single mother I am scared for my kids safety with everything wrong with the vehicle. I decided to do a voluntary repo due to the fact nobody wanted to help me. Now Im getting threats that its gonna go to the irs and my creditReview from Alexis R

We are deeply sorry to hear about ****************** experience. We apologize that no one returned her call. She spoke with a member of our management team on March 22nd and inquired about trading out because of mechanical issues. He explained, if she returned her vehicle, we report account history to the credit bureau, and we are required to file a **** C for voluntary repossessions. At purchase, **************** signed acknowledging we provided notice that states in bold type, We may report information about your account to the credit bureaus. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report. Repairs should be covered by ****************** Limited Warranty that is in effect. ****************** made me change my mind about this place, before they were great people, and helped when situations got rough and very understanding. Now theyre just awful, I should have went somewhere else instead. They will get you with the great down payment and the best offers. But when it comes to certain things there unreliable. Due to the situation I had I was hoping they can help me out because I was always on time with my payments and double paid when I push my payments back this time its a little different. I never been that one star person but Im starting today.Texas Auto Center Response

I was considering buying a car and was concerned about how they might handle recalls. The gentleman that I was emailing did not seem to think my concerns were worth dealing with and that a carfax report was good enough. Feeling dismissed I bought a newer car somewhere else. As of today I am now being harassed by them via text messaging. Very unprofessional, and would not recommend them to anyone.Texas Auto Center Response
